FH wants to see if the catering hall can make lobster tails on our wedding night as a special meal for him. The man did say that if theres some other meal that we're not serving that either of us wants, they can accomodate it (I don't know about lobster tails though) Anyway, my dad thinks its rude to the guests, and I don't see anything wrong with it. I've never been to a wedding where I even knew what the bride or groom ordered as their meal. What do you all think?

I would do it but if it comes right now to it and you don't want the problem, just ask him to have it the next night or something. I really don't see the problem if he does in fact eat them at the reception

Re: need an opinion
I loooove lobster. I would be a little upset if I went to a wedding and the bride/ groom has lobster but I don't. Share! But that's just me. I'll take a lobster meal anytime. You FH can have lobster anytime before or after the wedding. Why do it in front of all his guests? That's asking for trouble.

Lol, that's so funny. When I booked my RH I asked about a duet plate of steak and lobster, but only for bridal party. I was told that lobster cost a lot and that it would only be good to buy in bulk, meaning for the entire reception. But the BM broke it down and said you can have steak and lobster on the honeymoon. I don't know why but for some reason that put it all in perspective and I was fine with not getting the duet plates.

Re: need an opinion
My FH wanted the same thing but my RH doesn't make that for weddings They did let us choose our meals though, even if they were not the same choices our guests had. So he had a seafood crepe (our guests chose from chilean sea bass, a chicken dish, filet mignon and a wild mushroom torte (vegetarian). At your wedding you are (usually) seated at the sweetheart table separate from the guests so I don't know if they would know if your FH had lobster, esp if it's just the tails...if it were me, I would ask your RH and see what they say!! It's your wedding

I agree - I don' t think anyone has any idea what you're eating - although if they're in the shells, the bright red might be a little obvious! FH and I get a tasting plate for our wedding of all of the entries we selected so we get something special too. You should be happy on your wedding day.

Re: need an opinion
DH and I barely ate our dinner because our guests kept interupting us, and my niece wanted to sit with me. I know I took a bite of the beef, a bite of the fish and I think a bite of veggie, and they were soooo good. IMHO, I would feel uncomfortable eating something better than my guests just because I was the bride.
I'd save the lobster for a special dinner for the two of you on your HM, when the both of you can enjoy it.

Re: need an opinion
I wouldnt mind at all.... but I can see people talking... people will ALWAYS talk! But if you guys dont care what people think- then why not? YOU ARE PAYING for the wedding!!!!!! You should get what YOU WANT! Who cares what they think! Its your wedding!! I am going to have them make something special for me b/c I'm a picky eater.
