need an opinion ladies, help! guest list related

So, I invited a girl I know from college who I haven't seen since then. The only reason I invited her was when she found out I was engaged, she asked if she was invited to the wedding We were friends in college but were never that close. Anyway with all the excitement of the engagement, I said yes

Ever since I started planning, she would ask me every so often about the planning. But- it was weird. It was like she would only ask me about my wedding details and then say she had to go and once she got the invitation she stopped talking to me at all! I didn't want to invite her in the first place and now I feel like all of her wedding planning convos she had with me was just her being nosy, and not because she was really interested.

Fast forward to today, I wish I didn't invite her to the wedding!! She won't know anyone else there, I wouldn't even know where to place her. I can also see her getting drunk and embarrassing herself. My RSVP date was today and I haven't heard back from her. Is there ANY way I can say to her that since I didnt get her RSVP in time, I had to send the final list to the RH so it's too late??! I know thats probably rude but I really don't want her there

OMG I had the same dilemma. At first my friend from college was so excited and interested and then we haven't talked for a year. SO I came to the conclusion that if she was a 'real' friend she would have been there from the beginning. At first I felt bad but FH husband said she isn't a real friend just by her actions.

If I was you I would tell her that I had to give the final count to the RH and that you are really sorry but you couldn't wait.

I feel for you.... i think the fact that she RSVP'd late is your chance at an out. I agree with butterfly, tell her you had to give a count and you are sorry but you couldnt wait

Thanks to both of you. I feel a little bad about it but I honestly regret sending her the invitation. I hate that she asked me at the beginning if she was going to be invited. It's rude Anyway my RSVP date was today. How long should I wait to approach her, Tuesday? Wednesday? I can't approach her w/ this the very day after the RSVP was due.....

Oh, and she said a week ago that she would be sending it out tomorrow.... and its clear she never sent it. It's obviously not a priority anyway.

Haha that'd be too funny if you told her that you had to give the final list, so now she's out cause she was late. If you really don't want her there, then I say go ahead and do that. But if someone was telling me this, I'd probably say what are you talking about, this is the strangest thing I've ever heard? It might not be completely believable. Usually most people call the people who have not RSVPed. And usually it's not so difficult to add someone, even after the cutoff date. She might be aware of this, so maybe be prepared if she starts asking questions.

that *****,

why not wait and see if she rsvps at all? if she does and it's a Yes, call her and tell her you're sorry but you already gave your final headcount and that you tried to get a hold of her and when she didn't call back you had to assume it was a no. With the unreliability of voicemail and emails these days, you can get away with it

if she doesn't rsvp at all, no need to uninvite her, just assume she's not coming and if she does show up, ignore her and have someone on stand by to kick her out if she gets sloppy drunk.

i had a few people ask me about wedding plans to the point where it made me feel uncomfortable. one was an old friend from college who lives in the building next to me and we hadnt really talked or seen eachother all year (when one of my bridesmaids and a mutual friend came to visit we met up briefly)

i decided not to invite her bc we clearly arent that great of friends if we lived next door for 2 years and never saw eachother... and FH hates her boyfriend.

another girl is someone i was friends with in junior high and who was horrible to me for years, and then must have felt left out and started grilling me about my wedding and hinting to get invited but i didnt want her there and she isnt getting an invite.
