Ok, so my plan for favors is old school candy--ribbon candy, candy sticks, chiclets, all that stuff. But FH and I can't agree how to give them out. I want to do a candy buffet with little baggies and he wants to fill each bag and put it at everyone's table place. What do you think? I know with a buffet there may be ppl taking 2nds, but that's ok. And we would put a little saying on the table like 'please take what you want but be sure to leave enough for everyone else'. I need help...we keep clashing on this one

It's much easier to just dump the stuff into bowls and dishes and let everyone else stuff what they want into bags than it is to pack individual bags, make them presentable, and fit them to your table setting, just to have them left behind because someone doesn't like the particular kind of candy you put in them, or can't chew gum b/c of bridgework, or whatever.

i love the way that a candy bar looks especially in photos etc. But I am way to anal retentive and would just wanna toss it into a cute box/bag, throw a sticker on it and be done.
Can your RH accomodate an extra table with many people milling about at one time? Are you comfortable with the DJ making an announcement about the candy buffet if its not in a prime spot?
Try to find out what your FH doesnt like about the idea and see if they are valid points or just a matter of opinion (in which case you overrule.)
Can you leave just the boxes/ bags at peoples seats and let them go get some if they want it?

I like the candy bar idea. That way people can take the stuff they like and leave the stuff they don't like for other people. It is also something that people don't see very often so it might make your wedding stand out.

I personally love the way the candy buffets can look. You can still provide cute containers with stickers on them if you want. And the sign sounds like a good idea. They're adults, so I don't think you'll have a problem with running out fo candy because some people take too much. And if you have the boxes for them to put the candy in, they are more likely to only take that amount. And you'll have those who won't take any candy. You also may want something for any diabetics you may have coming tot he wedding.
