Hey girls, An 07'er here and for those who now know the details of their bridal shower, who paid ? Was the bridal party responsible, parents of the bride, or a combination? I know there is no right or wrong, just would like to hear some feedback on how your BP or family came to an agreement. TIA

Re: need answers please!!!!
my moh (sister) ended up paying for most of it, my other sister/BM aso chipped in for her and my niece/BM. my mom doesnt have much $ so she couldnt chip in. i had 2 friends in the BP, but i don't think they chipped in (even though they were asked), they are young and in school.

Re: need answers please!!!!
My shower was at my sister's house. I think my mom and sister paid for most things but then everyone (bridesmaids and FMIL & FSMIL) brought a food item.
Most of the weddings I have been in the bridesmaids and sometimes the mothers have shared the cost.

Re: need answers please!!!!
my mom paid for it all with exceptions to the favors (done by both SIL's) & my MOH bought some extra items. My mom felt it was her obligation to host & throw the shower

100% mom...but my BMs were all friends who live outside of NY and didn't attend my 'family' shower so they threw me a seperate smaller 'friend' shower in combination w/ my bachelorette party in VA where we all live

Re: need answers please!!!!
For my shower, my mom paid for it.
For my SIL's shower, my mom & her mom paid for the restaurant, and the BP paid for decorations, prizes, wishing well, favors, invitations, etc.
For my friends shower that I was the MOH for, I paid for the whole shower because I was the only one in her BP and both her and her husbands parents did not offer me a dime!
So this is 3 different parties and 3 different things that happened. To be honest, I don't know what is the right or wrong way, if their is even one, I think it is all up to the BP and parents.

Re: need answers please!!!!
Thing are different for everyone but my mom did the majority of the shower finances and work. My maid of honor and one of my BMs helped her with some things.

Re: need answers please!!!!
My MOH actually paid for it, but my MOH was older and is more of a second mom to me than a friend.
I was in another wedding where her mom paid for it.
I was in yet another wedding where all the BMs contributed to pay for the shower.
So it really can be anything.
