Need Assistance with Flowers

I have 2 funeral homes to send to this week and I have never ordered flowers for a funeral. What is the avg cost and what exactly do I send? Don't know if it matters for the arrangement but the deceased are my good friend's brother and FBIL's good friend. We won't be atteding but wanted to send an arrangement.

Hmmm. I don't know much about the protocol for funeral flowers. I know that chrysanthemums used to be common at funerals. I've seen calla and 'peace lilies' (the huge white ones with lots of greenery) at a funeral, too. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

I think you can spend about 150 on each and ask the florist to attach a bow that says 'A Dear Friend' or somthing appropriate. You might be able to spend less, but from what I remember that is what the usual cost is for a medium-sized arrnagement.

You can pick out whatever flowers you would like; the florist will have suggestions if need guidance.

I'm very sorry for your loss.

I would just call the florist and let them know that it is a funeral and the ballpark amount you want to spend. They'll know what type of arrangement to make.

When you call the florist you can order flowers or a plant. Many people like to send plants in planters that are pretty but don't just die off. We have one still from my father's funeral. The family often buys the big arrangements that cost over $100. Unless you were very close to the family then I say to send some flowers in a vase, flower arrangement in a basket, or a plant in a planter. The prices range and you can buy any range, as you would if you were sending to anyone for a happy occasion (i.e. $30, $50, or more). The card that gets attached will be a sympathy one and you can but a message on that. Hope it helps!

you can tell the florist how much to spend and they will create an arrangement to suit your budget....the bigger it is, the more money it is...some arrangements rund hundreds of dollars

When my uncle died, my parents house became the meeting place for the whole family. (my dad is the oldest). My mom's brother ordered platters of food for us, so we would have something to feed people when they came back to the house in between hours. If you know where they will be, thats a good gesture. It was the best thing he could have done, we all would have starved.

My condolences on your loss.

Christine
