Need basic help!

Hello all !
I am beginning to plan my wedding, and I have no idea what to expect or request from a photographer. Can anybody please point me to the right place or be able to give me a quick rundown?

Thanks!!

I think it really depends what you want, I am requesting a lot of candid shots, we are not a very mushy couple, so all those posed shots i think will look fake, people who know us, will know thats not how we are. I made a list of must haves:
8 5x7's
3 8x10's
1 11x14
10x10 Album, magazine style @ least 60 pics
2 parents albums - basic what they offer
must have proofs on hi-res disc. (so you can make your own after the fact for a fraction of the cost)
and i prefer proofs not that thumb nail catalog.
Also they all for the most part offer you this huge pic (like 20x20) I don't need nor want, if you don't want it or need it you can trade it, up your pics in album or add 5x7's more thank you's or 8x10's what ever fits your needs. But shop around a little bit & use them against each other, it sounds mean but it's bussines. You want the best price so tell them that you got a better offer & they will most likley match it.

I requested 2 photographers- wanted both
1 album-mine
I didnt do many enlargements...Im just not going to put them all over my house.
Engagement shoot
Proofs/CD
Thank Yous

You need to figure out how many pictures you want in your album and your parents albums, what enlargements you want and how many

Find out if they give you the proofs on a cd- you can always go to rite aide or costo and buy your pictures there for much less!

Find out how many hours you have the photographer for, esp. if you want them at your house while you get ready.

Find out if e-pics are included in the package or are extra.

Also, many times the company may also do video as well. It may be cheaper to do both from the same place.
