Decide on your 'style'....halls carry their own feelings...some are Old and traditional, some are smaller and cozier.....also figure out a budget.
Some halls do 1 wedding at a time, some do more than one....
use the search feature on the top, justt type in the names of halls.

I used Timber Point Country Club and was very pleased with it. The food and service were great and it's newly renovated. I have pictures to the new room.

Look under planning, they have articles about where to start. Think about price range and # of guest, also think about location in terms of where geographicaly you'd like to have the wedding 'Nassau and western suffolk': for example. Then think about what you want. Some people like the big ballroom feel, others the country feel with fireplaces and big windows. Some people MUST be the only wedding, some don't care. Some people need to be by the ocean, others prefer not to. Think about the time of year you want to get married and whether you want the ceremony , cocktail hour and/or photos outside. Once you'e answered these questions you'll have a better idea, and you cna tell us and we'll be able to help you more specifically. Also there's a magazine that's NY sites and services and it list most reception halls including how mnay people, price range, type of food, etc, so you can use that as a starting point or checklist, crossing off anything too small, out of proice range, or too far away and work with what you have left. Good Luck and Congratulations and WELCOME to LIWeddings!

Re: Need Ceremony/Reception Site help

Ive thought about some of the things you mentioned. Me and my fiance have different tastes. So far he likes brooklyn botanical gardens and brooklyn museum of art. He like outside or modern places. I like the castle/mansion feel. He says I can do what ever i want but i dont want him to hate out wedding. I want 1 wedding at a time (i think) and we want to get married there cause neither one of us is religous.
We are not sure about our budget yet, but i dont think it will be a problem since both our parents offered to pay and they know we were talking about some expensive places.

There's also Grand prospect hall. I forget if that's the palce at the botanicl garden. They have a really old world classy mansion feel! SO maybe you can both be happy!

Thanks for that site - it looks very helpful.
I think that glen island club looks really nice. I will show it to my fiance.

Check out oheka castle. Just be warned that the 2005 site fee is $11,000. The price per head starts at about $200pp for 200 people.

Re: Need Ceremony/Reception Site help

I thought that most places had a site fee?
some of the site just say site fee but dont have an amount then other dont say anything about a site fee. I guess that is a lot of $, but you only live once right - my parents know I have expensive taste (but i dont want to give them a stroke either). I guess i have to talk to our parents more about money.
