So I'm throwing my MOH a shower at my apartment (this is her 3rd shower btw)--anyways, only 7 people (including her) are attending!!!!
We are going to be bored to death just eating food/drinks and playing random bridal shower games. The shower won't be lasting 4 hours or anything, but no way we can just sit here and play bridal bingo and open presents!
So here is my request of you guys--- I need an activity/service/event to plan!
One idea is to hire a manicurist to come to my apartment to give manicures. Another is get a psychic (but my fear is the psychic telling the bride something bad in her future--oops!)
Can you guys think of any other services or anything else we can do? Cooking not a option---my kitchen is a closet.

then you could play silly non-bridal shower games...
open a bunch of wine and karaoke or play just dance on the wii.

I like the manicure idea. Maybe you could add facials or something else like that. Also, isn't there a dj guy that comes to cook for bparties? I think he brings all of his own stuff so your kitchen wouldnt be used. I'm not sure of the details but I remember him being at a bridal show.

Maybe play some games that aren't typically bridal shower games for large crowds but are regular games with a 'bridal twist' like Taboo, pictionary, charades, scrabble.... but all the words are wedding related. Once you add drinking to it...it could def be fun lol (Sorry Im a dork and love board games )

It wasn't a shower but I've been to two gold parties. Someone comes to your home and will weigh and test your old gold no matter what condition and pay you cash on the spot for it. You would have thought we'd all won the lotto. Broken chains, old Mickey Mouse rings from the early '90's (don't judge me)...the lady even told me that she's had people bring in backs of earrings and get $! Bring stuff that's been sitting around, broken, or you just know you won't use again or sell. They'll even pop out stones and give them back to you...they only take the gold.
Also, manicure & pedicure. Massage therapist can bring a portable table or chair and give massages as well.
If you really like the psychic just tell him/her to only give positive readings to the guest of honor. I'm sure they will oblige. A friend had one at her bridal shower and it was cool.

oh and the hostess of the gold party gets a percentage of the $ from the gold that the guests bring...not from their share but from the business. I think they even give you money to purchase food and beverages as long as you guarantee a certain number of people will bring gold to sell.

I love the manicurist idea. But here are some other things I've seen done:
You can do arts and crafts. I have seen people make and decorate picture frames, and do 80's themes arts and crafts like tie dying shirts, etc.
You can have some elaborate movie thing... if you have a big open wall you can rent a projector and make it movie screen size and have movie theater food (nachos, different types of popcorn, variety of candy) It kills at least an hour and a half!
maybe you can rent one of those people who do gambling tables you can have blackjack or poker with the dealer.

Valid Question! She's having one where she's from (VA) and where he's from (MD) but lives here, so friends were all supposed to be at this one but only 7 can come! I'm MOH and only going to this shower.
I like idea of sex toy, she will not. BOOOO!
I like manicure idea, its finding someone that could be hard (ill check my place around the corner if they make housecalls) but maybe massage idea? Ill call DJ chef too, but shower is at 11am on a Sunday so not sure how fun thyat will be!

Wine? You can go to the vineyards and pick up a bottle of her fav type of wine from a couple vineyards and have a wine & cheese tasting party? I was thinking about this for my MOH's bach party if she asks me to be in her party. She loves Mead Wine so I was going to do a mead wine tasting.
How about instead of asking a manicurist to come go buy 2 of those home foot spa things. Go pick up some cheap filers, nail clippers, mani/pedi supplies. Some of her fav polish colors and have a DIY mani/pedi party?
