Need Creative Minds for Engagement Party Favor Ideas

Hi Ladies,

I am trying to come up with something creative and not-so-costly for an engagement party favor. Our party is at my Moms house. We are having a pool party luau type theme. I am willing to do a DIY favor, but I am stumped.

My FH and I collected tons of HUGE seashells from the beach and are trying to think of ways to incorporate them. His idea was for me to write on them, but I think that might look so cheesy because of the texture of the shell. It is not smooth, so it will look like a kid wrote it. lol.

Any ideas ladies???

when I threw a luau 30th party for FH, I bought a bunch of real coconut drink cups for favors. The plus is that they doubled as decor and it looked really cute in pictures when people used them for drinks. If you want to DIY, you can hotglue a flower to them because the ones with flowers cost more.

hmm I dunno if this would work but I always get the Oriental Trading catalog and they always have random luau themed stuff.
