Need some serious help on this one. We are having afternoon wedding at The Riviera in Massapequa. See attached pictures for the one area where I'm really having trouble beautifying. This is the area where outdoor cocktail is being held. The tallest table of it all is where the outdoor bar would have been if we were to have it outside. Since I'm having it inside and all hot foods will be inside...I need to make this area look less 'out of place'.
We thought of having some pictures and throw some flower pedals on the tables. Or possibly a carafe with refreshing non-alcoholic drinks (i.e. lemonade).
No ideas are bad ideas. All suggestions are welcomed!
That is such a pretty area outside! I think the pedals on the table would be a cute touch as well as lemonade or other drinks. This will just be a hang out area? If so maybe just a basket of flowers here or there would look nice too and maybe put pictures if the two of you around for people to look at. Hope this helps! Enjoy!

What about lanterns (paper or metal) hanging? I realize you said it was a day-time wedding... but lanterns still look pretty during the day!
Or maybe some flower garland wrapped around the bannisters?
Would definitely do the framed pictures on the long table, for sure!

I have been to the Riviera, if you are doing CH inside, then why would you want to decorate the tables etc. and put lemonade out there? I don't think you need to go too crazy with a space you aren't using. I used the paper lanterns to decorate mt CH and it was a nice touch.

I am confused too. Maybe add a couple of touches but I def wouldn't go crazy. I feel like details like that are cute to us, but are wasted on the everyone else. IMHO

I agree with all of you. The cocktail hour will be inside but guests will be heading out if the weather is nice. That area is a little out of place and not being used. I have no problem keeping it as is with some flower petals and pictures. Just trying to see what other ideas are out there. Thank you for all the suggestions so far. :)

I think some flower petals and pictures would be really pretty! I also saw this thing on Pinterest where you and your FH write 20 things about each other that you love and you have it written on a canvas or plastic, you can just print it out and frame it too to be easier. People can look at the pictures, read your stuff and then you can put it in your home after the wedding too.
However, People are going to be looking at the beautiful view of the water anyways so don't drive yourself crazy over it :) The Riviera is amazing. Loved my aunts wedding that was there in May, the food was excellent and the view in the afternoon was breathtaking!!

I think baskets of flowers would look good too - mums are beautiful that time of year.

I'm not sure if you have a theme so its a little hard to say. I honestly don't think you need to do anything to decorate since it's really pretty out there. My CH will have all the food inside, but there's also a patio with a bar and tables. I'm not doing anything to try and jazz it up. If you really want to do something maybe you can put hurricane lamps on the tables? Is this right on the water? Petals might blow all over the place so I don't know how well that would work.
