I plan on going to see my friend in Forest Hills but I have no clue how to get there. I know the best route is by train but do I need to get a subway? I am so not comfortable with public transportation. So if anyone could help, I would appreciate it!

I know I am going to sound like an idot but is 108th street close to there?
108th street goes through FH...but not on the subway...
the EF R (and Q - I think now...was the G?) go there...'Continental Ave'

where exactly in FH are you going? The R, G, V run near there - are you taking the LIRR to the subway and then trans to NYC transit?

once u get off lirr theres a bus that runs down 108..108 is long so U might be able to walk or u might need to take the bus

I am visiting an old friend there. That is why I am freaking out. I am so mass transit illiterate, that I am the type of person who would just pay someone to take me and pick me up.

Ok whew... As long as there are cabs.... I can handle cabs....
I would drive if it makes you feel better...you can always find parking in the FH gardens area

Do you know the cross street? If its in the high 60's or low 70's, it's very close to Queens Blvd (and a quick walk from the LIRR).

Yup it is like way up into the few thousands. Just my luck. lol. And my friend is not the type who wouuld pick me up although when she used to come out here I would alwaus pick her up at the train station, I never said take a bus or a cab.

That's probably the address. Find out the cross street...108th Street between ____ and _____.
I recall having to walk to Queens Blvd. to get a cab. Depending on the cross street, it may only be a few blocks walk.

it looks like it could be on the corner of 70th. It does not look like to far of a walk.

Jenn i was just there last night, my DR is on 70th rd & 108st. Very close to cabs there and the LIRR station isn't that far away either.

OK, then...get off the train and walk north on 71st/Continental towards Queens Blvd. When you get to QB, cross (be careful!) and bear left where the road splits by Ridgewood Bank...this is 108th Street.
70th Rd and 70th Ave are only a block or two further.
