Can anyone tell me if they've used or will be using a DJ only, no MC, for their wedding? We're a little older (43 and 64) than most couples getting married, and I don't want any cheese or tacky stuff. Just want everyone to have a good time, some rock and roll dancing, some slow dancing ........
Thanks!

I used Vinny with High Voltage Sounds. We went with only a DJ and were very pleased with how it turned out.

They should. Don't let any DJ company tell you they can't do this unless you get an MC. Its total BS.
Granted a true MC will probably 'sound better' than a regular DJ. But a DJ IMO can do a good enough job for just intros.
Try getting a DJ that also does MC work. I booked L&S Entertainment and got Mike D. as my DJ. He normally does MC with the company and somebody else DJs so he sounds great doing intros.
But since I was on a budget I just wanted the single DJ and I was able to request Mike D. to be my DJ. He also doubled as my MC and it worked out perfectly!

Us too! I didn't see the need for an MC and Vinny was great!

Re: Need DJ Help
check out Celebrity Music. Aside from doing our wedding Charlie (owner/MC & DJ) is a friend of my FI and he runs a radio station that caters to that type of music (adult contemporary). That might be more what you're looking for or at least for that style, rather than someone who caters to a younger crowd. HTH. Good Luck!

We did only a DJ, no MC. We used FM Entertanment and they were fantastic! They're a vendor on here if you want to look them up. You just have to make sure that they DJ you hire is willing to make announcements, etc. We were told that there are DJs who can do both and then there are some who don't want to do anything but play music.
