I already know about High Voltage and will definitely check them out, but other than them, I need a reasonable dj - NO lights or anything fancy, just basically music and basic mc duties.

Elegancia Entertainment, I believe they have a package that starts with $895.00. I just booked them and they made me feel real comfortable.

You wanted exactly the same thing as us, and we went with Frank at FM Entertainment. Out of all the DJ's we saw, we liked that they were laid back, and could do whatever we asked.
Also they promised to play at least 60 of the songs that we request, where every other company was only promising 20 songs.

I just used Dance Jock the other night and Hector (MC) was awesome!!!!! I got so many compliments on him. We also had a Sinatra singer (Rich) and a percussionist. People thought the Sinatra guy was a CD at first, he was amazing.

We used Tom Gordon and had a live singer during dinner. His prices include him as the emcee, the live singer and a DJ. He costs about $2000

We use Ron James. He's usually a bandleader, but he also DJs. He charged us $1100.

We are using DanceJock also but we have Rick as our emcee and we are also having the live singer. I'm so psyched to see that you really liked him. I thought he was good on the video they showed us.

FH and I only saw Body Rock and Bravo Sound- both hall rec vendors and highly rated on here. We went with Bravo but I honestly thought that we couldn't really go wrong...their basic packages are about 500-600 more than what the other girls are quoting-you can FM me for more details....I think that they are worth the extra piece of mind IMHO... both of my MOH brothers used Bravo and she said they were great!
The tip I got from anyone who knows DJs- they should try to play your song list songs (mainly the special ones) but if people aren't dancing then they will switch to something until they find what gets the dance floor as full as possible...which if fine by me! Good luck!

I'm using Glen from Get in Tune. His studio is in Ronkonkoma. I've known him for years..he's a friend of my dads and a nice guy. I've also seen him do a few weddings. If you go to vendor reviews on this site you can see lots of reviews.

i'm using steven charles entertainment, very reasonably priced especially if you don't want any fancy light shows or props. he's a vendor on here so check him out.
