Ok, we are getting ready to pick a solid firm date and the reception site. I have been to (literally) 8 different reception halls all over LI. I fell in love with Leonard's when I went inside and saw the room. Honest to goodness, I was hesitant to go b/c to me I always thought it was a 'wedding-factory'. The room I was shown for CH and reception were on the main floor, which comforted me. Also the gentleman (Maurizio) I met with said they stager the start of CH's and receptions so you don't run into another bride or party. Can anyone give feedback on that aspect?
Also, I have looked over a few other posts on feedback and how most of you who had your wedding there only chose 1 station for the CH. I selected 3 stations, in addition to the regular CH. Is that going to be too much? Would do regular dinner menu. We have not signed a contract or any thing yet.
Lastly, ANY feedback on Leonard's overall would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!!
And keep fingers crossed that the church will be available on the date we choose, it's going to 2006, so whould not be a problem!

Re: Need Feedback on Leonard's (a little long-sorry)
I went to a wedding at leonards last year. It was beautiful, the outside decor is gorgeous. I especially loved the huge chandelier near the staircase as I remember. The cocktail hour was also great. I had an excellent time too.

Re: Need Feedback on Leonard's (a little long-sorry)
We also booked there, and a few girls who recently got married there said that she and her guests didn't even see another party going on.
My limo driver also told me that if THEY see another bride in the lobby or something, they will tell the bride to wait a few mintues in the limo to go in so you don't run into each other.
For the CH We got 1 or 2 carving stations and I think pasta stations. I would have to look at my contract b/c I don't remember.

No complaints here! Everything was great and newly renovated. There is plenty of food so unless you want stations there for a specific reason they're not necessary...ie we added CH butler service to reduce traffic at the stations...
Only other advice is to have EVERYTHING in writing - even where CH will be if possible. They can't keep track of promises.
Re: Need Feedback on Leonard's (a little long-sorry)
I am having my wedding there and my FH's cousin just had her wedding there last month. Leonard's is beautiful. The food is great and the people are helpful.
But I, like you was a little concerned with the events kind of mixing with each other. At the wedding we went to last month, the cocktail hour was onthe first floor. This meant that people were going in and out and those trying to get to other events were mixing with people from the cocktail hour. Tihs I didn't like.
But once we got to the reception room, this was not a problem. Their room was upstairs and only two events were taking place, but they were spaced out to start at different times. Also, a barrier was put in the middle so the event attendants could not intermingle. This was a great idea and made the reception appear much more private.
So I would suggest that if you can, get your CH and reception rooms both upstairs.
Also, the wedding we went to had 2 cocktail stations. I don't know how many people were there so it's hard to say if 3 is too much.

I haven't been to a wedding at Leonard's but all the pictures look really beautiful!
I'm getting married at Villa Lombardi's. They have 2 weddings at a time too. The spread the cocktail hour start times far apart enough so that the brides don't see each other. I've been to wedding's there and you wouldn't know there was another party going on unless, as a guest you used the bathroom. We have to share the one....
Good Luck!!

Re: Need Feedback on Leonard's (a little long-sorry)
I went to a wedding there 2 years ago! It was a smaller wedding so they had it the downstairs room which is really dark and small, the room upstairs is BEAUTIFUL! i just remember being a little squished. The people also had their ceremony there and I don't remember seeing another bride. I remember the cocktail hour being really good with tons of food. We had a tad of a 'bad' experience when my fh's dinner came and it was very undercooked and by the time they brought it back to him the reception was practically over. but overall it was a great wedding!

UGH! That was my concern. The CH room and reception room were both on the 1st floor. Does anyone have experience with this room. I am afraid there will be no way to 'shield' my guests from incoming guests for other parties!!!

We are having our CH on the first floor and the reception room is on the 2nd floor.
I think that is how they do it there. Personally I don't see it being a problem. Its only the CH

Yeah, that's how I saw it. It's only the CH so it's not a big deal really.
Depending on the party size, they can do the CH upstairs though.

I was shown a room for the reception on the first floor. That is more what I am concerned about b/c to get to the bathrooms and bridal suite, we'd have to walk through the lobby.

How many people are you having and do you have a specific date? That depends on the room. You should ask if you can have it up or downstairs instead. Maybe they are booked already

Re: Need Feedback on Leonard's (a little long-sorry)
personally, if I saw another bride I would love to take a pic with her, I am weird like that I loved Leonard's from the moment we drove up... and from what I heard from friends that went to s wedding there, everyone says the food was delicious, which is very very important in a wedding... we only have 1 additional station, I would love to do more but I dont want to spend more than we are already spending... three sounds good if you can afford it, because you can pick different stations and people can sample some foods that they dont usually eat... good luck

Re: Need Feedback on Leonard's (a little long-sorry)
We are looking at 100-125 guests on a Friday night in July 2006. We're going to be finalizing the date w/i the next month. I am not sure if there are lower or higher guest limits on other rooms. Also, I did not see the other rooms.

Re: Need Feedback on Leonard's (a little long-sorry)
I do not remember the name of the room, but it was on the first floor, same floor as the lobby/main entrance. If you were going to the stairs, it's to the right. We took the elevator up (from Banquet office) and went straigh t and to the left. The room was BEAUTIFUL and I think he said recently redone. It was all white, that was what I loved about it.
