Ok, FH's best friend and his girlfriend (soon to be fiancee) are finishing medical school this semester. His mom is making them a surprise party at the house and we're going. It's this Friday night and we can't think of what to get them. Also, there's not enough time to order anything b/c it's just a few days away. Any ideas?

Gadgets and Gizmos in the mall had a whole bunch of cute medical figurines and stuff for desks. We got my FH's friend a desk set that was a medical bag (which holds post its) and a clock that look like stethoscope.

I got my friend an engraved portfolio that said xxx, MD - figured he'd be taking lots of notes in his residency program. They have a nice set at Things Remembered.

What about a gift certificate somewhere? When all else fails, my stand-by graduation gift is a gift certificate to Borders. If you want something more personal, how about a gift certificate to a nice dinner in the city somewhere?

When I finished one of my practicums during grad school (speech pathology) I got a great gift from a supervisor...an engraved pen. It makes you feel so official!! They have such nice pens and pen holders out there!
