my best friend is getting married aug.8th.. and doesn't have a dress yet.. other then davids who can do a 4 month turn around? (other then samples being sold off the rack)
pref. LI but will go to NJ or nyc if necessary
she wants a lighter dress, with some straps other then that nothing really in her head

Netbride (depending on the designer), call Burton's for the heck of it, and I think a lot of City girls said that you could buy off the rack at RK bridal.

Lotus bridal in Brooklyn has a rack or two of samples they are getting rid of. I haven't been there in over a month, so I don't know what kind of selection they have left. My dress that I ordered there is a Maggie Sottero, and I was told it would take 4 months. She could pay an extra $100 rush fee and have it 1 month earlier. It might be worth it to do the rush fee if she finds a dress she loves.

I got my dress at Bridal Suite of Huntington. Ask for Aida. They are simply the nicest women and dont put pressure on you. they charge one price for alterations based on what you need. At least stop over and see their supply. Good Luck

HouseOfBrides.com has immediate delivery dresses and their prices are great. Try on in the store and order online.

Some of the stores may have samples to sell, or be having a dress sale. I know RK Bridal was having a sale when i was there, you may be able to take the dress home with you then

thebridalshop.com They have gowns in stock in all sizes and they are in mammaroneck. I got my gown that I eloped in(loved it) for $125 w/o alterations and they were fantastic to deal with.

I think depending on the designer RK Bridal has a good turn around. I ordered my dress from RK Bridal online for 300 bucks less and it came in a month in PERFECT condition.

definately try the bridal building. They have a lot of designer dresses you can buy off the rack. They are only open from 10-2pm on Sat to the public. Every bride should give it a shot before they start looking for a dress because they have some good stuff. It's kind of hit or miss. but if you find something in your size it's a great deal

If you don't feel it necessary to purchase from a bridal store..... Some of the beautiful past brides on here are selling their gowns, or selling one not worn in the case they purchased two in the beginning.Past Brides Yard Sale
You could also try craigslist.org there are many new dresses posted there. Good luck and best wishes

I got my dress from the bridal store online and my dress came in 2days!!! You cannot beat their prices. If you do order from them order one size bigger. Take a look at my album and see my dress, it is very simple but has a lot of sparkle. I don't need any alterations but a little hemming cuz im only 5 feet tall.

i ordered my dress from Angel bridals and it was in in 4 months.....most places will do it, some charge a rush fee....just go to a shop and ask :)
