Need Hair ideas-African American w/o a relaxer

I need some soft flowy hair style ideas for my hair. Its shorter now, it is 3' past my ears . I dont want a style with a lot of goo in it, because I am African American with out a relaxer. So my hair will have to be pressed and putting a lot of spritz and gel will not work. Plus I want it to be soft for the Honeymoon. Here is the link to my dress. I thought about a style thats half up and down.

why don't you try to give a little lift in the front and slick the rest back into a chignon?
