The way I see it I have one of two choices...ask that they get their hair done at their own salons where it will be more appropriately priced - I will pay - or have them get some type of updo if at all possible. I am thinking the updo might work - at least be worth the money.
I would offer both to the girls- see which one they like better and what works with your timeline. Ask them to look for short wedding appropriate hair styles.

I know you had an image of how their hair would look, but honestly - it doesn't matter. Your MOH's hair will not be memorable, no one will be the way you are. I would just leave it to your stylist to figure out a nice look - if she's getting it professionally done, it won't look bad, just different. If you prefer to make appts at a local salon for them, to save $$, then I'm sure they won't mind. Either way, I'm sure everyone will look great.

It stinks, but it's very hard getting people to do exactly what you imagined... Remember, it's her hair and she should be able to wear it however she feels comfortable.... I know that it doesn't seem worth it to spend the 75 dollars to get her hair blown out, but the way I'd look at it is... I was prepared to spend the money anyway, so let's just keep everyone happy.

It's true...I was prepared to spend the money..but that was when I thought it would be worth it. I think I will e-mail Tarale to see what we can do...she's always so good so I know it'll work out. Just mad because the conversation consisted of her telling me that she cut her hair one month before, that she is not buying new shoes (will wear an old pair she has) and is bringing her guest....who wanted to 'tag along.' Do I want to fight over this...no...so I know I need to just calm down. Either way I have to spend the money on the hair but I want them to get updos now.

My friend was a MOH and chopped her hair before the wedding of our other friend. It looked like she had nothing to worth with, but the stylist did a gorgeous updo and no one had any idea that she had 6 inches less of hair.

My little niece had her hair done by my hairdresser and she has a short bob. She curled it so beautifully. I don't know if it would be worth 75 but it took her about a half hour.

I would think your hairstylist wouldnt charge $75 for a blowout. Is that the original price when she thought she was doing an updo?

Here's my BM emily modeling here snazzy done up short 'do! They'll look great, no matter what the length of their hair!
They could always add extensions and make the updo's look like long hair done up.
