Need help!

Need help!

So my reception and church are booked for 11/27/09. ( booked in first 3 weeks of getting engaged so we were happy!) Got DJ also.... and then we moved! So wedding is 10 months away and we do not have:
photographer/videographer
Florist
Limos
Dress/Tux ( although working on that!)
Bridal party dresses.
Invitations, etc. and I am starting to get panicky, especially when I see all the 2010 brides who have done more than me!
Also, got together family lists over the weekend and almost died, list is ridiculous. Not looking forward to the discussion of cutting people, which will be touchy considering parents are contributing to wedding.
Need help ladies!!! and on a tight budget, need cheap pictures, flowers and limos and don't know where to begin!

dont panic you've still got time! the most important thing was the RH and the church. Try going to the showcases to get ideas for florists etc. also your RH might have suggested vendors. i am in my beginning stages too...

I am on a tight budget too I only have my RH and the cermony will be in the same place, my dress and limos.

DON'T PANIC

You have plenty of time. I am not having large flower CP. It's going to be a DIY thing with candles.
Can you maybe do some DIY stuff ?

I am hoping to do some DIY. I was not prepared for the numbers on the parents lists, it threw me into a severe budget crunch!
Any recommendations on photo/video packages would be great, the cheaper the better!

I would do the photographer and get that out of the way and then you can relax for a good long while. Don't panic! All the other things can be done at your leisure. I would try Michael's for invites. They have a new BRIDES line of DIY invites and if you get the coupons, it'll be super cheap.

All the other stuff you can research and get a good deal, especially with the economy. You don't have to get flower centerpieces - you can do candles instead and just get the boKs.

For video
Try Halo Video and Rambling Rose they are both vendors on here.

Don't panic! I'm getting married 11/14/09 and have my RH, DJ, photo and video. It's okay. Take a deep breath. We have plenty of time. It's great that some girls are so organized so far in advance, but we will be fine. There is plenty of time. Just make a list, prioritize, and start at the top. As long as I tell you it's okay, that means it's okay for me :) FM if you're stressing. We have plenty of time to get everything booked!

ok 1st thing 1st take a deep breath... There is no rush your doing fine. Im getting married in october and so far i have rh church photo/ dj and bp dresses and mine...

I would say you should look at photographers and getting your dress..
Some good photographers that were decently priced was Thomas paul, Duet and AdA. Good luck.. \

As far as invites im 2 months before you and i havnt put ne thoughts into invites. This site can freak you out lots of the girls on here are like to get everything done fast but the truth is there are ppl that plan weddings in 5 months. Im sure it will all work out and remember you have time to Breath and enjoy ur engagment!

Re: Need help!

yes don't worry you have plenty of time. the biggies you've done.
we started things late oct/nov for 9-2 wedding and time to spare.

I agree that Michael's or ACMoore are good for invite kits to print yourself - - especially if you use coupons. and remember with invites to count couples as 1 invite going out.
I used Michael's and with the leftover cards, I rewrote things are used as thank yous for my bridal shower. - - the girls were impressed thinking I got co-ordinating cards.

and the rsvp envelopes were used for tips - - nice and small to put in tux pockets.

photographer. we were very happy with Silverfox. they can do the photos and give you DVD of proffs as a 'package' and you can go back later if you want an album.

I bought a box of 12 pew bows again with coupon from Michael's and bought sprays of flowers and added these to the bows. came to about $30. that might save a bit on flower costs.

and dress prices seemed a bit lower at Estelle's in Farmingdale so you might want to visit there to see if you like anything.

and Esquire tuxes matched prices of other places and Michael was terrific so you might want to check that place. for standard tuxes best prices we got (back in jan 2007) were 90 and 99 for everything but the shoes.

Re: Need help!

Don't go to cheap with photo/video, unless it doesn't mean much to you. We tried to go cheap and was scammed almost $900. I think avg price of a package is $4k and not sure if you can get much less. We really didn't want to spend it, but we wanted the pics.
Flowers-we made most of our own CPs and had a coworkers wife for the bouquets-Flowers by Nina. She works out of her home in Stony brook I got rave reviews on the flowers.
Jazz Limo-vendor here, seemed to be the most reasonable after we looked around.
We got bridal party dresses at david bridal, see my album, was $115 pp since we saved $20 pp with buying the wedding dress their.
got my dress there as well, on sale. Look at craigslist if you want used, or here. I am selling mine-I have 2 of them inmy for sale album
Tux-Men's wearhouse-about $150 ea-avg. with DH being free
invitations through my photographer-$250

We got a lot of no's due to the economy.

take a deep breath, you will be fine. You have plenty of time.
