Original post by toddnicole1129

Hi! im 23 and my fiance and I have to pay for our own wedding which you all know is VIRTUALLY impossible! we live in Long Island and would like to have a nice big backyard wedding but dont have the yard or know anyone who does. Is there any suggestions for outdoor venues that would be inexpensive????

Try the Milleridge Inn, and the Milleridge Cottage, also the Three Village Inn. I dont how many guests you are looking at but all are very nice. There is also Pine Hollow in Patchogue ( I think) their pricing is VERY good. Never been inside so I dont really know anything about them.

Good Luck

I have a few friends even my self that wanted a backyard stlye wedding and the price for everything is more than a RH. Try RH on an off season you can get some really good deals and soooo much for your $$$$.

Try some parks like Sunken Meadow State park, they have a pavillion in case it rains but trust me, check out some wedding places anyway, if you book them at a certain time or within six months or so, they give you amazing deals and will work with you very much, it will probably be cheaper that way as outdoor weddings do cost the same and you have to do it all and also what if it rains. If you are set on getting married outdoors you always have to have an alternative, and Rec halls supply both. Do your homework and I beleive if you take a Sunday in the afternoon you will have hit a gold mine in essense of how much it will cost, Sundays are always the cheapest rates in general and like I said take a look around and dont be shy about asking for there best or cheapest deals, and dont sign anything right away always go back, and always go for tastings first.........this way you have more pull and will still get a lower rate, good luck., tell them it is between them and another hall, the will always throw something in for ya....hope this helps

hey, i don't know if it's too late to give my 2 cents....milleridge cottage does not have outdoor reception space. it's only for ceremony.

I agree with all the other ladies ~ with the tent rentals, permits etc it could just be as costly.. I would either downsize and make it a smaller wedding and find a place that has packages - all inclusive...

try

I know some girls say
Brentwood Country Club has great packages and deals. Sunset Harbour in Patchogue.

Besides the KofC in Oceanside there is another nice one in Seaford; Elks in Massapequa and American Legion in Levittown that all have reasonable packages for weddings.
You can also cut the cost by doing beer/wine/soda only and buffets are sometimes cheaper.
Some places will lower the price also if you scale down the types of food you have at the cocktail hour - - such as eliminating the carving station.
