Need help!!! (Areas to go around Watermill/Lake Ronkonkoma)
My friend is getting maried at St. Joseph's in Lake Ronkonkoma and their reception is at the Watermill. The hotel is the Sheraton of SMithtown, right off of motor parkway. They'll have about 1 1/2 hours between ceremony and reception. They are looking for suggestions on where to send the OOT guests during that time frame. TIA!

Re: Need help!!! (Areas to go around Watermill/Lake Ronkonkoma)
When I looked at the Watermill, they said that they would open up the bar early so that guests could arrive early and hang out. Did she try asking if they could allow that or does she want them to have something different to do?

Smithaven Mall is the only place I can think of in that area where guests could actually use up some time.

I was thinking about that too. There are a lot of restaurant/bars in that area.

Re: Need help!!! (Areas to go around Watermill/Lake Ronkonkoma)
I can't think of anything either...and I'm from that area. It's either they shop, eat or drink....none of which I want to do before a reception (except maybe drink
When I looked into watermill they said they'd open the bar early also.
I wouldn't worry, most people expect to have time inbetween. They will find something to do.
edited for grammer (I'm paying way too much attention to my lunch!)

Well if they're staying at the Smithtown Sheraton there's a Bennigan's right across the street, they could get some drinks there. Not too sure about closer to the Watermill tho.

THe Horse and Jockey on Main St. in Smitown...great bar, but low key....about 3 miles away from Watermill. Also, Irish Times in Holbrook...it is about 5 minutes away from St. Josephs church, but not out of the way to get to the Watermill.Hope this helps.

The Watermill opens the cash bar an hour before the cocktail hour. There is Sweetwaters close by and Butterfields, both are really nice restaurants and bars and both are in Hauppauge. I will be directing my guests at the bar at the Watermill.

We were told that the bar there (not in the reception area) will open at 6 and you have the option of making that a cash bar. There is also a Boulder Creek Steakhouse really close by if people want to go there for a quick drink. Other than that, I can't think of any other suggestions at this time.Welcome New Vendors
