Need help ASAP! Cleaners made a mistake on gown!!!!! (UPDATE)
OMG!!! Trying to make this a long story short....
I bought my gown off the rack because it was discontinued. I needed it cleaned (because the bottom of it had some dirt and you never know how many people sweat in the thing when trying it on) and stored before my wedding. (I don't anyone on Long Island to hold the gown) I brought it to the cleaners in March.
They told me I should wait to clean it after I have it altered. I let them know I would not be getting it altered for a while. I told them I wanted it cleaned immediately, then stored til around the end of the year. It was agreed. I paid deposits for cleaning and storage til the end of the year. They state on the receipt you need to call before picking it up.
Here is where I need your help.......
I called today to state I wanted to pick it up this afternoon. He proceeds to tell me it hasn't been cleaned yet. WHAT!?!?! They had 9 f'n months to clean it!!! Now it has been sitting there, in the bag all gross. I paid separate deposits for cleaning and storage. Do I demand my cleaning deposit back? Do I not pay the rest of the bill? What do I do? I go in this afternoon. He said it'll be done. Can they actually do it that fast? My head is spinning. I am so mad right now. Please help before bridezilla takes Long Island hostage.
TIA
update
I went to the cleaners. Not good! (Let me give you background. I have a bleeding disorder and when I get cut, I always bleed forever. Sometimes I don't notice I am bleeding until someone points it out.) We found out that when I last put my gown on that I was bleeding bad from my side. This is when I took the gown in to be cleaned, just hours after the incident. I pointed out the problem to the cleaners, amongst the dirt stains and others.
When I brought it in back in March they told me to wait until after I got it altered. I said no, now. They agreed and it was put on my receipt. Well, the blood stain is still there. (Not just a spot, but a lot. Gee, I wonder why blood doesn't come out after 9 months!!!) Thankfully, it's all over the inside, nothing can be seen from the outside. I refused to pay the balance and they regretfully accepted. I took my dress and ran. They did do well getting the dirt out on the bottom.
I am smiling. It's all I can do. If any of you are going to a cleaner in Lake Ronkonkoma, FM me.![]()
