Need help- can't decide who should walk me down the aisle

Original post by thiadora

I have a strong relationship with both of my parents and am having a hard time deciding if I want them both to walk me down the aisle or just my dad.

BOTH PARENTS: It would be like they were supporting me as I take this next step into married life.

MY DAD ONLY: My mom and I have shared a lot of the planning, dress shopping, etc. . . leading up to the wedding. I am a little of a traditionalist, and I think it would be nice to share this moment with my dad as something special we would do.

Who walked you down the aisle (or will be)? and why?

TIA

**My parents think that this is my decision and will not be hurt either way.

I walked down the 'aisle' -- it was actually between the vines at a vineyard-- to our wedding gazebo with both of my parents. I wouldn't have it any other way. I love both of them so much, and they both have helped me and supported me in so many ways, that I couldn't just choose one and not the other. Not only did it make me feel happy, secure, and loved, I felt that it even brought the two of them closer together, united in the happy event. Our guests thought it was so sweet, and it made my mom, dad, and myself so happy. Plus, with 2 arms to hold onto, I was less likely to topple down into the grass!

Maybe have both parents walk you down the aisle, stop at your moms seat and have your dad walk you up to the alter.

I think that this is a great idea and compromise.

I am having both my parents walk me down the aisle. I know it would mean a lot to my mom to be included.

I vote for both. Represents them both moving to next step in life.
