need help - ceremony related

okay so i know this is posted all the time but now it's my turn. I have to give my DJ my ceremony music before I leave for PR which is tomorrow morning so that means tonight basically.

I don't know what I should walk down the aisle to. I don't have a typical bp walking down the aisle - just a MOH and 4 little kids (2 FGs and 2 RBs) so I was thinking they could walk down to the somewhere over the rainbow by Israel Kamawhatever, and I thought I could too but the DJ thinks mine should be different so people know when I'm coming. Hopefully it will be an outside ceremony.

Any ideas what would be a good song to follow that one? I'm not into the traditional canon in D, here comes the bride, trumpets voluntary, etc. For some reason i'm stumped!! Please help!

silvana I'm stumped too. I got married at the RH too and walked down the aisle to Brighter Than Sunshine by Aqualung. I'm like you, I wanted totally non-traditional processional music.

But I'm trying to think of something that may flow better with your BP's processional song......let me think...

you know what i just found the other day and maybe i'm like, the last person who knows about it....but if you go on iTunes, there's this whole section with themed music and they have all different playlists for like, beach music, 80's slow jams, frat parties, gentlemen's club, sunday morning, jazz breakfast, etc....anyway, they have like 5 different wedding themed playlists...maybe try there for some inspiration? They def had some non-traditional stuff.

Are you an Elvis fan at all? How about Can't Help Falling in Love? I think that may go nicely with your other song, and it's such a beautiful song. Unless you're not looking for that non-traditional.

thanks alissa. I'm having such a hard time. seriously I've had brighter than sunshine in my head for weeks - since your wedding probably! - because I love that you did that and I think it's totally cool.

I'm not set on the Rainbow song I just thought it would be cute with the outdoor setting, something light and whimsical. I don't have itunes right now because my laptop got a virus and it's fixed now but I haven't been able to reinstall all my programs.

Gotcha! You're welcome. I'll keep thinking...

ETA: I don't know this song (maybe once I hear it), but what about using the same song as Alissa since you like it?

What about Here There and Everywhere by the Beatles? Did you want to do something more 'classic rock' or something pop-y?

fh doesn't even care - he's like what do i care i'm not the one walking. not so crazy about the oldies, to be honest. I do like whimsical and would love to do something not too old but fairly obscure but still recognizable. ugh i'm such a pain

meanwhile I thought it would be cool to not have the music restrictions that a church imposes but now I almost wish i did!

I was just as picky so I know how you feel. That's what I kept on saying to everyone...'i know i'm a total pain in the asss, but....'

ugh, I wish I still had all my music lists but I threw them all out. You'll find something....

Hey Silvana,

Have you ever seen the movie 'Love Actually'?
I loved that they used 'All You Need is Love' by the Beatles. I thought that was awesome.

My friend walked down to 'Cowboy Take Me Away' by the Dixie Chicks. It was totally 'her'

Do what you feel makes you happy!!!!. I've considered using 'Falling Slowly' from the Once Soundtrack..... We're having a string quartet so I thought that would sound pretty.

thanks. you girls rock. i'm seriously starting to stress way too much over things. like I ordered thank yous for my shower, and i didn't know the whole card was in dark brown!!! you know what pen color shows up on dark brown?? NOTHING! so I bought a gold calligraphy marker and attempted to write my shower thank yous last night (my sister was like um you better get them out before the wedding!!) and it was a MESS it wasn't even a good marker and i had to shake it and all this crap and even though gold looks pretty on the brown you can hardly read it!! ugh.

okay, mini vent for the day over.

You poor thing.....I'm just trying to picture you writing in messy gold marker. I don't want to laugh but it's pretty funny. You have to be able to laugh at yourself though, otherwise you won't make it, especially as close as you are.

Hang in there, you're almost done!!

I was seriously like - I am SUCH an idiot - I loved the thank yous but ordered them online and it never occurred to me they'd be brown. it was a total mess and everytime i shook the marker my cat would freak out. It was funny - I'm really glad I don't have many to write; I wanted a small shower and wedding for this very reason!!
