I dont even know where to start????????? DMV, SS, work, credit cards, insurance, WHAT ELSE??
how do i change it for the SS card? DO i mail something? Do I go to the office?

You can do SS or DMV
Bring your marriage certificate (the orignial-they will give it back to you), current DL, SS card and a bill (if you are changing your address)
Its not so bad. YOu have to go to the SS office to change your name

also make sure u check beforehand about where u live....i had gone to an office, waited for 30minutes, and when i got up to the window they decided to tell me 'oooh u live in queens?? u can only go to the jamaica office' just a heads up!

Go to your local SS office and change that first. Once you get that done you can go to the DMV.
Things to change -Social Security -Driver's License -Automobile registration and insurance -Work related information -Insurance policies -Bank accounts -Investment accounts -Utility bills -Post Office -Credit cards -Passport -Medical records -Wills, legal documents -Organization and church memberships -Voter registration -Landlord or mortgage company

Start with SS and then go to the DMV. After that the obvious//work, licenses, cc, magazines, and so on through the year you'll find new things that need to be changed. Don't frt but keep in mind DMV, SS and credit cards/debit cards/bamking should all be done close to eachother. ID's must match cc's and banking

wow - good list! but honestly the order doesn't matter.... i changed my liscense & credit cards right away....my SS card was the last thing i did and it was only a couple months ago! I do know that u can't change ur passport untill ur SS card is changed...but other than that all my other stuff was done before. good luck!

I did my DL before SS and it wasnt a problem-DMV didnt care as long as I had my marriage certificate

I bought a name change kit from amazon.com and it came it REALLY handy. It had all the forms you need and it was in order of what you had to do first so you didnt even have to pick up the paperwork!! Social Security is the FIRST thing you have to do but you cant do anything until you get your marriage certificate in the mail.
