Need help choosing a reception hall. Do i go for beauty and elegance or distance
Original post by Kassidy72
Hello, I am fairly new to this website and i am going to see watermill caterers, but i am wondering should i go see Coral house and verdi's @ westbury or go see Crestwood Manor, I live in Queens ny and they are all far from me. Do you think a 50 minute drive from the church to the reception is too much!
Thanks

The Metropolitan in Glen Cove is one wedding at a time and they also have a smaller party room downstairs called 'The Club'. I think they can have about 100 people or so and they have a separate dining areas and cocktail area.
We had our engagement party at San Souci in Sea Cliff which is also one party at a time and has gardens and across from the water.
FM me if u want info, Good luck!

The watermill will definatly take longer than 50 min from queens... and there are plenty of georgeous places in Nassau that would be more suitable if you are consence about time ( i cant spell for the life of me SORRY) i am sending you a FM mail with some honest opinions about some of the places you mentioned

I suggest giving Douglaston Manor a look. It was beautiful (IMO) and they gave me an UNBELIEVABLE deal for a Saturday night! I sent you FM.

i am partial to Westbury Manor, but I hear very mixed reviews about the Watermill.

Given your distance concerns, budget, and from what I've seen of the places, I'd go see Westbury Manor, Crestwood Manor and Douglaston.
We're getting married at church in BK, and Crestwood Manor is the furthest out east we went looking. Totally doable from Queens. Good luck!
Why is FH limiting you to 3 places though?
Check out this thread for pricing. There might be other places on this list worth checking out, too.

I would definetily consider all THREE factors. However, at the end of the day, you need to get married where you want to and where you are comfortable.
FH & I fell in love with a place in Connecticut...and that's where we are getting married.

Look into Metropolitan in Glen Cove. Not on your list but food is awesome! The look is more modern.
