So my future hubby and I keep going back and forth but are now leaning towards having an engagement party. As long as my parents dont mind we will use their backyard. It has a pool and a grass area as well as a brick patio area so it all works out. We have a friend who is a DJ so that squares that away. We'd hire a BBQ guy so no one has to be bothered with that.
But ... I need ideas! Decor? Invites? Favors (do we even do favors - I thought of bbq sauce)?
Anything and everything would be helpful! My colors are pink pink pink! Thanks for the help girls!

check vista print for invites...i just bought mine from there, LOVE THEM...so affordable! I spent 45 dollars for 60 invites, matching envelopes and return labels

for my brother's engagement party, they rented all these gambling tables with dealers....they're both big AC people......it was fun and you can give out prizes for the most money won :)

LOVE the BBQ sauce idea. very cute. Luau is always fun! yummy drinks, fun decor, tikis, typical outdoors summer party.. others could be: carribbean (steel drum type music) or basic beach (with beach balls, volleyball etc) or maybe a south beach type thing like clean white with bright flashy colors, martinis, make a custom pink martini and name it something cool

If your going with the BBQ idea and you love pink - you could always tie it in with a retro look and feel sort of a throwback to the 50's era (If you've seen the movie pleasantville sort of like that but witha modern twist and pop of pink) or 60's era (bright big colorful flowers -austin powers style- and beachballs and funky lights) or you cold totally incorporate pink with summer/spring colors with pops of pink and for favors sortof branching of the bbq sauce idea you could do little bottle of seasoning and tag it with 'season of Mscarina & FH or season of love or spring into love with ms carina & FH'... you get the gist. So we're definitely going to do a bbq party and we're thinking of just having family and our bridal party. Do you think people would be offended? We sort of dont want to go crazy with all the cost!
