Need help finding a DJ

Need help finding a DJ

My fiance and I agree on everything accept a DJ and its driving me nuts. He wants something totally low-key. He suggested A Starry Night. They don't use MCs. They only do what they call 'announcements.' They feel the music should move your party along. But I have 250 people coming to a Sunday afternoon wedding in August. I can't imagine how low-key would = fun in this instance. We also met with Feel the Vibe Entertainment but he thought they were cheesey. And we're both on the fence about Spin Around Sound. Please help. All suggestions are appreciated.

FM Entertainment. They do private showcases and you will be able to see and hear everything they can do.

Starry Night gets excellent reviews amongst the NYC brides on the knot.
I hired them and I am very happy that I did. They are so non cheese and they will do announcements for the bridal party, bride and groom, cake cutting, garter toss, etc.. If you want them to.

Wow my FH and I are the same way but I wanted the low key and he wanted more. We both agreed on Starlight. I found the other people we talked about using pretty cheesy.

Music by Michael...they are a little bit of both. They have great reviews and a huge database of music to help you plan. It was my easiest decision!!!

For the person who recommended A Starry Night - Thanks. Which DJ are you using? We spoke with Dayana. She was very cool but had an a latin accent. I'm a little concerned about that.

I am using Gabriella and she also has a latin accent.
My Fi and I dont have a problem with it. I actually love the way she talks.
So far my experience has been beyond excellent, I love working with Gabriella and she is by far one of my favorite vendors to work with.
Like I said Starry Nights get excellend reviews.
My wedding is at the end of this month so I can post my review then.

If she was hard to understand and is the one doing the announcing, it could be kinda a tough situation, but if she is easy to understand or isn't the one who will be talking at the wedding, then i wouldn't worry about it. :)

They aren't too pushy either.

We are using Spin Around Sound! At first I wasn't sure, because they use an MC and a DJ - and I wasn't down with the MC thing (which sounds like your FHs thoughts)....thought it'd be too cheesy and all we really needed were the annoucements. BUT, a co-worker of mine used them for hers and RAVED about them. We have a very similar sense of what type of music, type of DJ we wanted, and she said they were great. Originally she didn't want an MC for the same reasons, but it ended up being great to have one person to be totally dedicated to the music, and one to make the necessary announcements and feel out the crowd. (she said the MC was not over the top at all) She said they played awesome music and got everyone dancing - not your typical 'wedding' music either. I guess you could say I'm PRO - SAS.
