starts off slow but then gets fast, preferrably with a latin beat... Any ideas? I can't even think of one..

Jess... are you talking about the 'La Tortura?' Oh and any kind of Latin - merengue, salsa, whatever, I am open to ideas....

I like dave matthews, so i love it..the reason why i thought of it is because when it gets fast it has a latin beat...at the wedding i went to the bride and groom slow danced to the begining and then stepped it up for the faster part..it was really cute...

This is exactly what we want to do and exactly why I need ideas!!

Here's the thing about La Tortura (which I absolutely love and can't stop shaking my hips to whenever I hear it!) it's not appropriate for a wedding if the guests understand Spanish. Here is a translation of the lyrics:

there are some songs, like How do You Keep the Music playing, that have been translated into a salsa version...

when FBIL married FSIL, that was their song...for their 10th anniversary renewal, they danced to the song again, but after the first chorus they switched it to the salsa and started dancing to that, it was good.

if you talk to you dj, he can give you more songs that are like that.

and oh yea, I am horrible with song titles, which is why I didn't realize the song was La Tortura (Alejandro Sanz ) and Shakira is one of my favorites.

I am definitely playing Quisiera Ser at my wedding!

What about My Love is Your Love by Whitney Houston. She has 2 different versions one is slow, I like the beat in the backround of the slow, and one is a dance mix that starts out slow but its not slow for long but your dj should be able to mix it together. I might do this for my song or just use the slow version. My FH is a dj so he is going to mix it and put it on cd ahead off time.
