Need HELP finding a venue!!

Hey ladies!

I am new to all of this wedding stuff and feeling quite overwhelmed. I currently live in DC, but came home last weekend to look at some venues. I looked at a total of 9 including Oheka (gorgeous, but not going to be in the budget), Glen Cove Mansion, Waterview, Westbury Gardens, Watermill, Millridge Inn, Coindre Hall, Metropolitan, and deSeversky Center.

I'm looking on making another trip to Long Island next weekend.

Does anyone have any extra input on any of these places or any others that I should definitely visit??

I am looking to have a April/May 2011 wedding with the reception and ceremony at the same place (prefer to have the ceremony outdoors) with about 175 people.

Suggestions would be appreciated!
Happy Valentine's Day!

The Inn at New Hyde Park. They have one wedding at a time and a beautiful garden area where you can hold your ceremony.

I am getting married at Jericho Terrace in Mineola, and it's so pretty! They really work with you too on prices. IT will probably be similar in price to the Watermill.

I visited the Watermill and really liked it... it just wasn't what we were looking for... I didn't fall in love with the rooms there like I did at Jericho Terrace.

I have heard Coindre hall is amazing!

Good luck!

You should definitely check out the Crest Hollow Country Club. It has really beautiful grounds and should be wonderful that time of year

this site (click here!) was really helpful in helping me narrow down which halls I wanted to see. There are soooo many gorgeous places on LI...what are you looking for in a reception hall?

Check out North Ritz Club.....it's beautiul and one reception at a time! And you can have your ceremony outside (I'm hoping it will still be OK outside in early November) and I think depending on the time of year, you can have cocktail hour seating outside. And their food I hear is amazing...have not gone to tasting yet.

I recommend Giorgio's in Baiting Hollow...especially if you want an outdoor ceremony. They just finished a new gazebo area and it's beautiful. They are also in the middle of renovating outside and will have a new outdoor cocktail area.

The food is amazing and you work directly with the owners which is a major plus

My RH is De Seversky, but I would say you definitely need to look at the Woodlands, my friend had her wedding there last summer and everything was amazing.
