Need HELP finding a venue!!

Original post by lolalulu1686

Hey ladies!

I am new to all of this wedding stuff and feeling quite overwhelmed. I currently live in DC, but came home last weekend to look at some venues. I looked at a total of 9 including Oheka (gorgeous, but not going to be in the budget), Glen Cove Mansion, Waterview, Westbury Gardens, Watermill, Millridge Inn, Coindre Hall, Metropolitan, and deSeversky Center.

I'm looking on making another trip to Long Island next weekend.

Does anyone have any extra input on any of these places or any others that I should definitely visit??

I am looking to have a April/May 2011 wedding with the reception and ceremony at the same place (prefer to have the ceremony outdoors) with about 175 people.

Suggestions would be appreciated!
Happy Valentine's Day!

Check out Land's End in Sayville. Waterfront and does ceremonies inside or outside. Check out my review for more info!

You should check out Fox hollow, Chateau Briand and Venetian Yacht Club. All three were pleasant to work, had an outside area to have the ceremony, and all of them negotiated with my budget.

Lombardi's on the Sound in Port Jefferson, Hamlet Willow Creek in Mount Sinai, and Hamlet Golf & Country Club in Commack are all really nice places with amazing food and great service! I have also heard good things about the Thatched Cottage in Centerport.

Definitely check out Giorgio's....it is so beautiful, one wedding at a time, and the food choices are endless..It's on a golf course right near the beach, and the owners are so nice to work with!...

I would say either Venetian Yacht Club or Chateau Le Mer!

Flowerfield
Lands End
Majestic Gardens
East Wind

I second East Wind. Our wedding was there, and they have a beautiful outdoor area. Everything was amazing.

Based on the halls you've already seen, I'd say

The Inn at New Hyde Park
The Royalton
North Ritz Club

Hey! It looks as if your going for the elegant mansion type look and feel. Definitely check out the Bourne Mansion, Lessing’s - has many different type of mansions/estates/ locations, and also try Hemstead House – I don’t know what their pricing is but it’s very very similar to Oheka Castle regarding look and feel. For a look of elegance Villa Lombardi’s and Giorgio’s are beautiful, both have excellent food, are very accommodating and have an area outside for ceremony (I believe all these places do). Oooohhh and also look into the Woodlands (located in Woodbury) and www.andrewscatering.com they also have many different indoor and outdoor settings to choose from. Sorry for the long post, I've planned a number weddings and am in the process of my own so...a) sooo much to do and I know it can all be so overwhelming at times b) I always over do it with the research... better to be safer than sorry and have no doubts hahah. East Wind Caterers also has three exclusive settings in one location, which can cater to a particular look for many different brides. Old Westbury Gardens does conduct outdoor ceremonies on site but I’m not sure if they accommodate receptions. Feel free to FM me for any more suggestions or if you have any questions I’m happy to help. Best of luck in your search. =)

The Vanderbilt Mansion at Dowling!!! So beautiful, one wedding at a time, on the water, and it had that over 1000 year old charm and history to it!!!

What's your price range??? And do you have to be the only bride? That will help us narrow some places down for you.
