need help finding lace ballgown
Hi ladies! I have been searching for a dress for over 2 months and cannot find one I love!
I have been to a ton of stores in LI, NYC and NJ but cannot find what I am looking for which is a ballgown full skirt with a lace/beading bodice. I have tried on plenty of lace dresses but they don't have enough fluff in the skirt and the ones that are very poofy skirts don't have lace bodices. Can anyone please help? THANK YOU!

Re: need help finding lace ballgown
i saw one on say yes to the dress last week! i dont know your budget, but check out kleinfelds(edit: it was a ballgown with a lace bodice and a lace skirt, although the bride removed the lace from the skirt)
here is one... not sure what you have in mind

Re: need help finding lace ballgown
thanks for the tip! i've actually been to kleinfeld's already... twice!
they don't have that many lace gowns and the ones they do have are straight fitting as opposed to ballgown shaped. thanks for the reply though!

Re: need help finding lace ballgown
Justin Alexander makes some beautiful lace dresses. I was actually supposed to get the style #8137 for my gown, waited 10 months and it never came in....I had to cancel my order and get another dress! So if your going to go that way, give yourself plenty of time, I thought i did but apparently 10 months wasn't enough

Re: need help finding lace ballgown
Sort of, but without the lace overlay. something similar to this but more ballgown-like. (This one is A-line but with a big skip underneath.) I'd love something with a waist line though (here I tied a ribbon around to give the appearance of a waist line) and maybe box pleats or something to make it more of a young/princess looking dress. I seriously cannot believe how hard this is!
Sorry, I can't seem to add the picture in here. Here is a link: http://winniecouture.com/1/popup_moreviews.php?id=162

Re: need help finding lace ballgown
It definitely has the 'poof' but that's too modern for me. I'm looking for something a bit more traditional. Thank you though!

A lot of 'real' brides put fabric under the lace so it's not as revealing which makes it look less modern, but it's a little modern for me too. You could always find a dress you love and then have a lace overlay added, or have lace added to the bodice (or even combine 2 dresses -- some designers will do that for you)
good luck!

Did you try looking at the wedding dress gallery on brides.com? You can refine the search to lace ballgowns.

Re: need help finding lace ballgown
Amalia Carrarra has a lace ball gown that loooovveeee! I never tried it on because it was out of my price range, but its advertised a lot in magazines. Kleinfelds should have it -- Im surprised you didnt see it there. My dress -- Maggie Sottero's Jean is lace on top with a full A-line skirt, not a ball gown, but you can wear a hoop under it. I didn't, full A-line was enough for me, but I did try on the hoop under it, and I think you might like that effect.

Re: need help finding lace ballgown
I tried this dress on actually... I went to the Eve of Milady corporate headquarters on Friday and this dress was nice although VERY expensive and actually poofier in the picture than in real life. As for budget I am paying for the dress (& wedding) myself so nothing is set in stone and I can pay a little more for a dress that's beautiful, but just haven't seen it yet. I would like to look into getting a custom dress although don't know anyone reputable, but am open to any suggestions! Thanks ladies, you're all awesome!

Re: need help finding lace ballgown
When I was shopping for a dress, I tried on a ballgown with pickups and a lace v-neck bodice. It was at Bridal Couture of Manhasset.
