Need help from Girls who go tanning

okay I leave for Vegas in 3 weeks and Im very pale from the winter. I dont want to be pale in the gown. So I was thinking of going tanning before we leave. Any suggestions? I've never gone before and dont know where to go, what to ask for, etc. How many times do I need to go before leaving? How often can I go? How long does it last? Help me please. Wish they had a little book(Tanning for Dummies)

First off, you have many options. You can go tanning or get a professional spray on tan that is better for your skin. Your best bet is to go on Yahoo yellow pages and look up tanning salons in your area. Call them or go there and explain exactly what you wrote on here. They will direct you as to what you shoudl do.

I also worked in a tanning salon. You want to get a base so I would at least go 3 times before u head off to Vegas. 1st time the shortest time u can and then work your way up.

I forget where u live but Im sure any tanning salon will tell you the same. You can also apply a lotion that will accelerate the tan.
Go into a tanning bed that has bronzing bulbs not reddening bulbs so u do not burn.

The whole cancer thing is why I've never gone but I cant imagine that 3 times would give me cancer, right? I dont plan on continuing once I get back. I just dont want to look pale in my gown. I live in Nassau. I know there is a bunch of salons on Merrick road and sunrise in Bellmore. I dont usually burn in the sun and I do get very dark in the summer if I lay out but with the babies I havent in two years so god only knows if I would burn now, I would think probably. What kind of lotion do you buy for bronzing? What does it usuallycost to go?

I used to work for Electric Sun, in wantagh. Its on wantagh ave. The beds there are good.
No u arent going to get cancer in 3 sessions. Lotions are usually $2-$4 a pack and a pack can last for 2 applications.
The lotions will say, a bronzer included. Normally someone at the desk will be able to assist you in choosing the right one so you will be ok.

I didnt think 3 sessions could do much damage. Anyhow, I just got off the website for Hollywood tans because I know there is one in Bellmore which is like 10min. from me and they had an ad on tv. Anyhow, they have a booth that does a 6sec. mist of something that gives you a tan that lasts for a week-Anyone know if this looks normal or if you wind up looking like a carrot They also have a stand up booth that the max is 8min. and it takes 3 sessions for a base tan. Do you think 3 sessions is enough and how often can you go, once a week or more? Can you see Im in a rush If only they had something to lose 30lbs. as fast

Just to clarify- I didn't mean that you would get cancer by going 3x, all I meant is that it is not that good for your skin esp if you are pale.

You should try mystic tan- that's what i have used they just spray you front and back and you are tan!!

Just a heads up...Hollywood tans...beds arent too good..not by my experience, my friends. She went and paid $18 and got nothing. But if that is the place u choose...yea, 3 sessions should be suffice. You'll know if you need more....just look in the mirror
I would go twice a wk, give a day in between. See how that works.
I hear ya..I wish too that had something like that to lose weight!

BTW, I might be working at a tanning salon..Im going tomorrow. Its right in Wantagh on Merrick rd.

Im sorry I hope you dont think I was at you, cause I wasnt. I was kinda at myself because I never went because I was afraid of the whole skin cancer issue and not being too up on them I didnt know how much exposure I would have to have. Where is Mystic? I live in Freeport.
