If you are having photographer take pre-ceremeony pics how much time are you giving for those? Going to sign my contract tomorrow & they were saying they would start taking pics 3hrs before my ceremony. I just want pics of getting makeup done& getting ready-just seems like alot of time????

Our photos are starting 4 1/2 hours before the ceremony. We're getting married at out RH and, due to the time the sun sets in October, we have to start quite early to ensure we get all of the daylight shots we want.

Not sure if this will help you, but below was our general schedule that day.
Photographers arrived at 10:30am and stayed the entire time below and took pictures:
Make-up/hair started at 10:30am First reveal at 3:00pm Pre-ceremony pics until 5:30 Ceremony at 7 Reception ended around 12-12:30

Our ceremony is being called for 3pm and I am having my photographer come to my house between 1030 and 11 am. The ceremony is at the RH so we are going to do the reveal and do all of our formal pictures (or as many as possible) before the ceremony so that we can just enjoy ourselves for the rest of the day. I added a little extra time than what we probably need in case there is any traffic or if for any reason something doesn't go according to schedule. I prefer having some cushion time than to have to rush something or miss out on a shot because we are running short on time. Our tentative outline for the day is as follows:
7:30 am - Hair & Makeup Arrive 10:30am - 12pm - Photos getting ready at house (Limo arriving at house around 11-1130am) 12 - 12:30 pm - Travel to Photo Site 12:30 - 1:30 - Reveal & adult BP photos 1:30 - 2 pm - Travel to RH 2 - 3pm - Photos with the children in the BP & with Aunts/Ucles/Cousins (arriving ahead of guests) 3 pm - Guests Arrive; We will sign our Ketubah & Marriage License 3:30 pm - Ceremony 4 - 5 pm - Cocktail Hour 5 - 9 pm - Reception 9:30pm - 12am - After Party at Hotel Bar (If we make it that long! lol)
