Need Help - I am booking my HM.

How much did you all put down when you booked your HM? IMO, the deposit inorder to book is really high. I could be wrong though.

for our $3500 HM, we could have put down $150...but we paid in full

$200 for first part
$650 for the second (cruise)

booked both separately - both also standard for what we booked

When we booked our cruise the deposit was $250/each, but we put down $1800 so we could have an even balance due or $1000.

I am being asked for a $2000 deposit. I thought $500 at most for a deposit.

$2000.......o defintely not. Where are you planning to go that someone can quote that crazy deposit O my o my that is VERY high

Hawaii. From what I understand, we have to pay for the airline tickets in advance plus $500 to book.

It's a little under $6000. I am happy with the package, I got alot of good advice from girls on here, I just don't want to put down $2000.

It depends...... IF there is an air sale on, the travel agent might make you pay for the air ( to get it) and maybe a $200 deposit for the hotel. You would also need to pay for the insurance, usually anywhere from $59 - $100 per person. Make sure you are booking it through someone who knows what they are doing..... Nothing is worse than a unpleasant surprise on your honeymoon.....

( I work for sandals, that is how I know this stuff)

you might be asked to pay a lot in advance -because some amazing hotel rates require immediate payment - as well as some great airfaires - It does seem high but I think there might be a reason - I would ask WHY the deposit is so high - they should be able to tell you - If the total is 6K maybe their deposit is 1/3 of the total cost - I have heard that some places do payment plans like that -
