I tried on a dress last weekend that I LOVE, but the store wouldn't give me the designer initially and said it was a private designer that they carry. I called yesterday and got a very nice person on the phone who told me it was a Demetrios, but I can't find it on their site anywhere so I'm wondering if it's based off a specific Demetrios dress.
Anyway, it's a strapless ivory dress with and asymmetrical waist. It has a little embroidery and some beading, but not too much. The embroidery/beading runs along the seam of the wrap part of the dress (not sure what the proper lingo is for this), and down the sides of the corset back. There are also patches of the floral embroidery/beading on the chest area and the train. The embroidery is a light pink. The dress also comes in white on white.
Has anyone seen this dress? Does anyone know if this is Demetrios or another designer and what the style number is?
Thanks!

Re: Need Help Identifying a Dress
it sound like it might also be a Maggie Sottero -
What shop did you go to? If it was a Macy's they have a special line of Demetrios gowns. If we know the name of the salon we may be able to id the designer, since some places carry specific designers heavily.

Adrienne's in Islip - I thought it might be a Maggie also, but when I asked the girl that was helping me, she said it wasn't, but who knows! It's like they're guarding national secrets in these stores.

I am not sure what dress it is but, maybe if you head to RK Bridal, you might be able to find it. They have all of their dresses out on racks in the showroom and carry Demetrios ones. They also have a number of Demetrios books that you can look through. They are on 39th St between 8th and 9th and are open until 7 or 8 I believe.
Also the bridal salon at Macy's 34th street carries Demetrios dresses.
Good luck!

I agree it sounds very much like a Maggie style.
I Googled Maggie Sottero and there is a gown with floral beading but it may not be it, but it's worth looking into:

Is it an organza dress? I found one that may be the one you are looking for on the demetrios website - under sposabella (It is in pink on the site).
Good luck!

Re: Need Help Identifying a Dress
Thanks for all the help ladies!
I tried checking the Maggie Sotterro site too, but I can't find that specific dress. The Maggie Sotterro - Courtney is similar but the top part is a little different and the train has more decor, but the embroidery is very similar. On the Demetrios site it looks most like the Previous Collections - Demetrios Couture Style 1189, but neither of these are exact matches.
They had alot of Demetrios dresses at Lillette's Bridal in Baldwin. Great prices too! Good luck!

I went there and they told me the designer after giving a little attitude and dealing strictly with the owner! call back and demand they tell you, thats crap!

I got my dress in Adrienne's, it's a 2be Bride dress, and the picture is not on their website. I haven't found it anywhere, and when I called the designer they wouldn't send me a pic. I think Adrienne's carries this line exclusively in this area. Also your description sounds a lot like my dress.

I can't find it now - but I know I have it saved on my home computer . . . the dress store HAS to tell you the designer - it is the law. Call them up and demand to know who makes the dress and tell them you will be reporting them to the authorities if they don't.

I just realized I had a similar Demetrios Dress saved in my notebook as well, not sure if this is the one but, it's somewhat similar.
I can't get it bigger sorry! This one is Demetrios Young Sophisticates Style 2671.
It is a 2be dress. It is their own designer. they don't tell you that but that is what it is. If you go to the adrienne's website there is a link to 2Be. I fell in love with my dress. they told me it was theirs... 2Be does like knockoffs of very fancy dresses and the prices are slightly less. I don't think you will find it anywhere else.

Re: Need Help Identifying a Dress
I went to RK's and Macy's and didn't see a Demetrios dress like the one I love, so you're probably right about the 2Be dress. I'll have to press them for info when I go back.
