She is your SIL so I would think to avoid drama you should go to her wedding, but cab you go for just a little while so you can go to your friend's event?

my opinion is this... friends, especially ones we call best friends, are chosen family. your SIL knew you had plans and i dont think she did it spitefully..but as you said, you have helped plan this day for your friend. i personally would never ask my DH to miss his BF bach. party. the are like brothers. i would understandingly attend my sisters wedding alone, especially is it was put togetehr rather quickly.

ETA: i voted for back party

My vote is for that idea! In this situation, your friend will understand and be psyched that you can come later. DO BOTH!!

im going to sit my husband down tonight and explain the situation. if she wasnt my sil i would have nothing to do with her. i talk to her once a month if that and when i do she talks down about the family. we have 8 weddings this year 4 are family and she is not going to any of them becuase she said that these people arent invited to hers and she doesnt want to feel obligated.

Its your best friend Id say go to her party. Tell the SIL you already committed to it. You are in your best friends wedding right?

What will your DH do?

I voted for Go to the Wedding; however, I would sit down with DH to see what his feelings are about this. He feels strongly about you going to the wedding, then I would go to the wedding. If he doesn't care either way, have fun at the BP!

Where is the restaurant where the wedding will be and what time is it starting and ending?

Since I know how hard you worked on the BP, I'd go to the wedding for a few hours... show my face then get on the road and head out to catch up with the BP.
Since it's an overnight trip you'll still have time to enjoy it.
