Need help.. Which cruise do you think we should take for our honeymoon?

Hi ladies. FH and I want to take a cruise for our honeymoon. We are very confused right now by which cruise to take. I personally have never been on a cruise before. I've also never been to the caribbean! Yes, I am sheltered.

Maybe some of you ladies who have been on cruises can help us make our decision? Both cruises are Royal Caribbean and are for 7 days.

The first cruise leaves from San Juan PR. The ship it would be on is the Adventure of the Seas The ports of call are: San Juan, Aruba, Curacao, St. Maarten and St. Thomas then back to San Juan.

The second cruise leaves from Miami, FL. This ship would be Freedom of the Seas, which right now is the largest of the fleet. The ports of call are: Miami, FL; Labadee, Haiti (their own island); Ochos Rios, Jamaica; George Town, Grand Cayman; Cozumel, Mexico and then back to Miami, FL.

Any info from you ladies would be very helpful since I know nothing about these islands or cruise ships.

The first one is the Southern Caribbean one, right? I would do that one. I've actually been on the Western Caribbean one before and we LOVED it, but I've wanted to go to the southern caribbean so I'd choose that.

definitely definitely DEFINITELY the first one! I've done them both, and the first one blows the 2nd one away.

Personally I love the 2nd one. Grand caymens just blew us away...its our favorite most beautiful place. Cozumel was soooo much fun!!! I would talk to a travel agent about what you want. I like the 2nd one! You cant loose they are both awesome!!!

Ive done both cruises, and loved them both , but would choose the 2nd

if u want to wait a week, royal caribbean leaves oct. 7th out of san juan to barbados, st. lucia, st. thomas, st. martin, and antigua. thats the one im taking.

I haven't taken a Southern Caribbean cruise, but have take a Western Caribbean cruise. The ports were great, but I found the cruise very rocky. Most nights our dining room was half empty because people were sick.

Do the first one. In the second one the ONLY good port of call is Grand Cayman (which is beautiful but the others are all a waste of time). St. Thomas and St. Maarten are both amazing ports and Aruba is also very nice. I'd choose the second one.

I do have a bias being Puerto Rican and all.... But, I have been to the Western Caribbean, and I enjoyed it very much! The thing about cruises is that you really don't enjoy the islands much because you're docked for the day...but if you want white sandy beaches, definitely go Southern Caribbean. If you like the yellow/coral beaches, then the Western Caribbean is your pick. Western Caribbean has a more Aquamarine water. The Southern Caribbean has more blue beaches.....OH....if you like shopping....DEFINITELY the Southern Caribbean,especially St. Thomas and Aruba. Grand Cayman is really small, you can see that in one day and so is Cozumel....but they're FUN! There's lots of activities. If you chose to go to Cozumel DO NOT do an excursion to Cancun or Playa del Carmen...Although they're beautiful, you will not have time when you return to Cozumel, to shop! You can get some deals there! But, It's really your preference. But both sides of the Caribbean are just as beautiful.

I did one similar to the second one and really liked it. Grand Cayman was one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen and Cozumel we got some amazing deals shopping. I can't speak for the other one - I think you can't go wrong!!!!

I went on the Southern Caribbean Adventure of the Seas and it was by far, the best week ever! I don't have one bad thing to say about it....

I vote for the second one...we are doing that for our honeymoon (I too have never been on a cruise, FH has been on like 6). We got a really good deal for air and cruise through travelocity with a balcony room. Only like 3k for the whole thing!! Can't beat that! I am excited. I have never been to those Islands before. Goodluck choosing!

I went on that exact cruise Adventure of the Seas in October - we had the best time.
I have pics in my album if you would like to see.

I also went on Western Car. but I think Southern by far is the best..

FH actually proposed last year on a Southern Carribean cruise. We did Carnival only because it was the cheapest. I definately recommend staying in San Juan for a night, Old San Juan is very cute and we had fun shopping before the cruise took off. I loved Aruba, St Thomas was great too. We actually stopped in Barbados and Dominica instead of St Maarten and Curacao-but my FIL just got back from Curacao and they absolutely loved it!
