Tomorrow FH is having a bday party for me at a bar/ grill. It's a casual place and everyone is wearing jeans, but it's my party so I want to dress up. I told FH I bought a dress and he was like- that's too dressy. Now I don't know what to wear! I need to pack now because I am going out to LI straight from work tomorrow.
Please help!

Your the bday girl, wear the dress...as long as you are comfortable why not...otherwise just wear jeans a nice top and some heels

I'd say wear the dress because your the birthday girl but I hate how it feels to be 'out of place', so maybe try a cute dress shirt with jeans and heels?

I really like my dress, but it is short. I feel like I have nothing to wear! I haven't shopped in so long!!!

i totally say wear the dress! it's your bday you SHOULD be dressed nicer than everyone else! you'll look super cute.

i find that when i wear flats w a short dress it makes the dress appear a little longer. also, maybe if you wear flip flops they will dress it down and you'll feel more casual? do you have any flip flops that would work w it?

It's a little too dressy for flips. But, I can wear short sandals that aren't very dressy or high. I like heels because they make your legs look leaner! Who knows, I need to decide so I can go to sleep!!!!

I could do that but don't have time to buy leggings!!! I live in SI during the week and then go out to LI on the weekends until the end of the school year. So, I go straight to LI after work on Fridays. Tomorrow, I basically am driving straight out there, going to my house to shower and get ready and then straight to the party!!!
