I need your help with something. For weeks now there has been this fowl odor that comes from the kitchen area. My kitchen and dinning room are connected as one big open room. At first I thought it was a pet odor cuz we have a cat and I thought it was coming from her bed but yesterday I believe that I have found the source of where the odor stems from. It's coming from the refridgerator area somewhere. The inside is fine, does not smell, I cleaned it out 2 days ago. It seems to be coming from the outside of it in the back wall. This may sound stupid but am I supposed to clean the back area once in a while. The fridge is a pain in the *** to move, very heavy...It takes like 3 or 4 people to move it, no joke. So that's why I don't bother going back there and I didn't think I had to clean back there. I'm sort of freaking out because sometimes the odor is strong and sometimes it's not. I'm more afraid that something might be dead behind there if you know what I mean. I don't understand how that would happen though, the apt. is not dirty. We have been in this apt for year and a half and we have only seen two bugs , and they were little ones. Maybe because it's a brand new furbished apt. or because we have a cat around.
but Anyways I need help or suggestions ladies on the fowl odor problem, please help???

You know DH said the same thing last night. That maybe it is something in the freezer. I will throw out anything that's been in there. I am going to have my dad and DH move it and check out behind. I am definitely a chicken myself and there is no way I am even going to be in the room when they do that....oh god please don't let it be a mouse...if it is maybe it ran behind the fridge because it saw the cat...LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL
And why would there be mice in the house when we have a cat... Come on they're supposed to scare them away....LOL

It sounds like your compressor may be going or there's a dead rodent in there. Move the fridge and check it out.

You're supposed to vaccuum off the coils on the back of the fridge every so often, but that is to make it run more efficiently and it shouldn't make smell if you haven't. Oh, I hope it's not a dead rodent, yucky!

I am so freaking out over that thought right now...errrrrrr! I hate rodents and bugs...ewwwww! all of them! DH is a major animal lover and I swear he feels bad killling anything. Seriously he'd rather pick it up with something and throw it outside. I'll be screaming my head off and he'll be concentrating on how to gently put it in a napkin to throw it out...it's insane
One time we were at his sister's house and we saw a waterbug so my BIL killed it. DH was like 'awe poor guy couldn't you just put it in a napkin and throw it back outside'....I was like 'hello ding dong why would you throw a nasty insect that comes from the outside back outside, so he can come back in again?'....

A rodent whether dead or alive would freak me out and traumatize me for a while where I would litterally be afraid to step foot in the room where the rodent was found for at least 3 weeks.

Thats what keeps everything cold. It can sometimes get so hot, just by touching it you can burn yourself. Maybe you have a burned rodent.

Ok now I am really freaked out! I'm hoping it's just something back there that needs to be cleaned...please God no rodents...I'll freak out. I clean...why would I have rodents.
I have a cat in the house, how could I have rodents! LOL. aren't they supposed to sense cats?
Oh great...this cat is not even the vicious type either. She never hisses or scratches. My two year old godson has tortured the crap out of her and and she just sat there and took the abuse, she never raised a paw nothing... now she hides from him whenever he comes over...LOL...so how am i supposed to rely on her to catch rodents....LOL
