Need help with baby shower gift

As usual, I have waited until the last minute to get a gift for one of my best friends baby shower, which is on Thursday. All of the nicer things have already been bought off of her registry, and I want to give her something more special than just onesies and bibs.
Anyone have any nice ideas for a specail gift??

how about a massage or facial or man/pedi gift certificate and a really nice robe/night gown set for the hospital? she will gets lots of baby things, but maybe it would be nice to get something for the new mom.
Plus for the wishing well- your favorite book as a child with a note to the baby written inside.

Another alternative is to put together a basket of things that she can use as quick meals when she comes home!

When my stepmom had my sisters, I got her slipper socks for her wishing well and she LOVED them - she hated that she couldn't reach her feet as easily and regular slippers never stayed on and her feet were always cold.

Oh, and one of those 'boyfriend' pillows with the arms - she will appreciate it more as she gets bigger b/c she won't sink into the couch and it is comfy afterwards too.

I bought my SIL a digital camera for $199. as one of her gifts and now I get pics emailed to me all the time!

what about a gift certificate for a local photographer to come to the house and take pics? It could be wrapped in a frame or in an album or something.

You could get her a video camera, or offer to do the birth announcements, or if you know the baby's sex, get the baby his/her first piece of jewelery....oh! also there is always silver comb, brush, cup or rattle and you can have them engraved!

I heard mommies - especially those first few weeks and not sleeping much - would enjoy something they could nibble on in the middle of the night or a pair of VERY COMFY PJ's - getting up in the middle of the night every night multiple times = one tired mama so make her comfy!!
