Need help with BM dress

Need help with BM dress

I plan on doing black BM dresses but I'm trying to stay away from the traditional bridesmaidsy dress. I figure if they have to wear black they might as well get something they can possibly wear again. The problem is I haven't really found anything not too bridesmaidsy in the salons. Does anyone know of any designers who aren't as traditional or does anyone have any pics to give me some ideas? TIA!

dont have designer names but bloomingdales and lord and taylor in the city have a great selection of formal dresses that may not look bridesmadish ... only thing is maybe one of your guests may show up in the same dress???

try jessica mcclintok (sp?)

I never even thought about that! Imagine that? LOL

I went to Jessica McClintock but they only make dresses up to a size 20 which is street size 14 or 16. I have some larger girls in my wedding party. To order extra material for the dress is so expensive so I decided against that dress.

I guess I'm just looking for something with a little bead work, and no sashes, bows, ribbons or covered buttons.

I have pics of my black bridesmaid dress in my album. All of my girls love the dress and say they'll wear it again. It's made by Alfred Sung.

David's Bridal had some nice dresses that weren't too much like a bridesmaid dress. You could also check Donna Karan or Banana Republic.
