All my BMs are TINY except for one (she's about 5'6', 220 lbs). Just wondering what you ladies think - do you think it will look OK on her? I'm gonna have my mom try it on (she's 5'2' 170lbs) just to get another perspective. I have 9 BMs so I don't want to drag them all BM dress shopping b/c I've been in 1/2 of their bridal parties and never had a 'say' as to what BM gown I had to buy.
Thoughts???

I think its beautiful. Do you mean tiny as in short, or thin? If they're short just make sure the dress doesn't look too 'heavy' I found my very short bms looked ridiculous in big heavy dresses

I think that if you're concerned about 1 girl, then just bring her to try things on. If she doesn't feel comfortable in it, then you can move on. The only thing I'd be concerned about on her is how the flowers will hit her. This wouldn't matter to a lot of girls, but if she is the heaviest of the group, then she may already feel like the outsider appearances wise. So, making her feel comfortable really might be to your advantage...yes, even though I think we've all been in parties that never asked us our opinions.

5 of my 9 bridesmaids are in this photo. By 'tiny' i meant thin (they're all under 120 lbs).
The one I'm concerned about is to the left of my grandmother (center).

My sister eas the most picky about feeling comforyable so i brought her dress shopping knoeing that if she was happy then everyone would be happy...im dont really see a reason why it wouldnt look good on her.

I know i may be way in left field here, but i have 9 BM also, and i just sent them all to the store with me (except for the 2 that live out of state) and told them to agree on something...and they did therefore no stress on my part....These girls have been my friends for over 15 years at least and 29 yeears at most......no worries here...they chose beautiful dresses that flatters everyone and that i love. Of course, i have ultimate say, but we are all happy....just a suggestion...

i had the same issue!! I have 11 bms, and the body types were ALL over the place. I was really nervous about the dress I loved and how it would look on one of the bms in particular, since she is short and a bit bigger. But honestly, dresses are made in different sizes for a reason!! once she put the dress on in her size, it looked great. I think since we see pics of skinny girls in these dresses we figure it can't look good on someone bigger, but once its made for that size, it looks good, you know?

You need to have her try it on before you decide. Maybe you should take her and another BM to go searching since she is the most difficult to fit. It looks like it's really tight. I'm 5'6' and 145 and I wouldn't want to wear that dress because I'm not comfortable in things that are tight in areas I don't like.

I think it's a beautiful dress, but I agree with the girls to bring your friend with you to try it on before you order it.

It's a beautiful dress but keep in mind it is very fitting! Bring her with you to try on the dress. She does not have to make the final decision but I'm sure she would feel great that your are bringing her dress shopping and it would help with your decision!

First I wanted to say that I think she looks great in the group picture! I'm trying to picture the dress on her and I think the overall shape is flattering (ruching on the tummy works wonders) but the flowers may draw attention to her stomach (If she's self concious about that).
If you can't bring her with you, maybe you can show her a pic and say you wanted her opinion on the dress?
The most important part is alterations, in my opinion. Just because she's bigger doesn't mean she has to wear a mumu, the dress should and can be fitted! Just not TIGHT.
eta: also, I noticed that she had straps on her dress while most of the other bms did not. Maybe you can offer that as an option so she feels more comfortable?

Yeah it's actually the same gown, she just had straps added. ETA: Yes, this gown is a similar style to the one I'm considering. Thanks
