Need Help with centerpieces...

I don't want to use flowers for my centerpieces and I'm trying to come up with ideas. I think I want to use candles, but it's a daytime wedding...does that matter? Please post your non floral ideas, pics would be great!

TIA

For my eparty I used four votive holders from Dollar Tree (they came two to a pack) and sprinkled rose petals in between

ETA I bought the rose petals from Waldbaums for $1.99! It came in one of those plastic cake holders so im not sure how many petals were in it. I decorated four tables, buffet, drink table, gift table, and bathroom countertop.

I had a daytime wedding & these were my non-flower DIY Cps...i used battery operated tea lights that i got at Michaels..and wrapped them with vellum paper so they looked like votives.

i saw a really cute idea on CP's in Brides magazine that i want to do for my fall wedding.... real simple!

You take cylinder (round or squared) votives, and wrap thin red/brown twine around to to secure a maple leaf to the outside (tuck in any ends sticking up). So simple and they look really nice! I might do these with loose petals or something.

Do you have a color scheme or theme yet?

I Looove how the artichoke looks here. We are incorporating them into our centerpieces. I also saw one in a magazine that was an artichoke with a votive candle inside. The artichoke acted as the holder. Very cool.

Re: Need Help with centerpieces...

Thanks for all the pics ladies! Keep em coming. My colors are Pink (Watermelon) and Canary Yellow. I am using Gerbera Daisiey in the bo-k's. I like the seashells, but I'm not sure if it would look 'odd' if the cp's are the only place I use 'beachy'. I acutally saw those cp's at bed bath and beyond...So far, that's what I'm leaning towards, but I'd like some more ideas.

Thanks for all your great ideas!

found some ideas online...these incorporate just a few gerber daisies (not sure if you didnt want ANY flowers at all)

love the main focus of the lemons or oranges, not sure what the deal is with the ribbons, id just cut that out

I can't copy the pics.. but check out SouthernLivingathome.com ... pages 69 the filagree iron candlestand, p 58 the fruit centerpiece, and pl 28 the hurricane w/candle and pebbles. My favorite is the filagree iron candlestand.

Re: Need Help with centerpieces...

candles
paper lanterns (they cone in TONS of colors and i found a really cheap site - fm me if you want it)
candy (sorta like the candy buffet idea, but smaller bowls)
lollipop bo-ks
plants (an alternative to cut flowers - you can even do herb plants or moss, etc. i saw some giant four leaf clovers that were kinda cool)
individual cakes or desert trays (or some other food)

i ended up going with orchid plants, but i was looking for other ideas too because i couldn't see spending that much on cut flowers. so needless to day i have a list of possibilities. i can't think of anything else right now, but if i do i'll let you know!

I bought them at Pottery Barn Outlet in Riverhead, but way back in about Feb 2006...haven't seen them there since...the inner glass candle holders were from AC Moore.

I'm not allowed to use any food that is not supplied my my RH. RH is very strict. I am also going to have a bucket with a bottle of red wine, white wine, and sparkling water on each table, so I don't think my CP's need to be big...I was thinking of just stacking the boxes of favors in a nice display or something like that.

Thanks again ladies.
