Ok girls need your help. I'm getting married next August. Here's the thing; my cousin was married a few years back in August and her color was lavender. Guess which color I was considering? Lavender!!!!!! I really don't wanna look like I'm biting any of her style because that is SO not me. Truthfully, I LOVE pink but my bridal party and FH aren't too hot on pink b/c they feel it's too light. Now mind you, I'm not thinking a baby pink but more along the lines of a Watermelon color. Please advise. Seriously, I'm about to flip and tell my BP to suck it up and where what the hell I say. Phew!!!!!!!!!! That felt good!
I don't think it's a big deal that your cousin used lavender. It was years ago and plus who really will remember?

My family will remember it's my mom's sister's daughter so we're more like sisters than cousins. And the more I think about it the more I think I should go with the color that really makes me happy. I chose lavender to make everyone else happy. I've really gotta learn to stop doing that. It's my day and no one is footing the bill except for me and FH.

I feel the same. Plus your bm will be wearing a different dress and Im sure you'll have different flowers so its a whole different feel.

Its really not a big deal if you use lavender. I was in 4 weddings in a row and I wore lavender in all of them.

my bro got married in JULY... im getting married in APRIL... thats 9 month difference...
her color was lavender... and mine will be dark purple.
trust me, no1 cares. lol
if she cops an attitude, tell her that her wedding is old news.

ITA and the pink would look nice!! esp for august! if thats what you want, although it would be easier to do lavender since everyone likes it, the wedding was years ago so i think your in the clear

i would said go with the watermelon color. im prob partial because i would personally choose that over lavendar but even say my initial choice was lavendar, honestly although i completely think its ok to use it cuz its your wedding and you should do what you want, honestly, i know i would feel the same way and wouldnt want people thinking that i couldnt come up with my own ideas so i just took from someone elses wedding. i would go with the watermelon! or if you like a different shade or purple, maybe you could do that.

If you love lavender then go for it... it doesn't matter if your cousin used it.
I have to say I kinda like the watermelon color for your summer wedding though!!! Tell them they are wearing pink and they'll like it!!!

Thanks girls! I've been online all morning looking at different colors and I found a beautiful shade of purple as well as a nice blue and I have to say watermelon is still BIG on my list. But you're all right. In the end, it's my day & it shouldn't matter what anyone thinks.
To Barb and Mrs. Soto: I so LOVE both of your attitudes. You totally crack me up.

I don't think it should matter if you use the same color; I say use lavendar if that's what you want!

watermelon is a really hot color right now. i'm doing hot pink and magenta. but it's not like you have to dress the boys up in pink, and you don't have to have a lot of it, you can choose an accent color like light green, which really complements the pink nicely if they are uncomfortable with just the pink
