Need help with MyPublisher and Blurb.com

I want to create our wedding abum and have heard a lot of brides here use MyPublisher.com and they seem to have positive reviews. I tried dowloading the free software and it gave me a hard time so someone mentioned blurb.com. I actually like their layout options better and theur website is great AND you get twenty more pages for the same price about, BUT I have a coupon for one free book at MYPublisher lmao. What to do!

I was considering using Publisher for the parent Albums and then Blurb for our album, but does anyone have feedback on them? Especially on Blurb? Like quality, speed at which you get it back, etc.Thank you!

Jenn, I've used MyPublisher a lot and like the quality etc. Never heard of Blurb.com - but sounds like they have a better deal. Usually the one free thing with MyPublisher is one free of the SAME exact book - so if you want to do the parents' albums the same and order two for the price of one, go for that. Then like you said, you could do your own on Blurb.

Just as a sidenote - I have never used any of the layouts provided on MyPublisher.

I always create my layouts on Powerpoint, do all my own backgrounds, text, layout, etc etc. then save as a jpg and then upload each page as if it were one full bleed pic.

So if you're not too thrilled with the layouts on MyPublisher, you could always do that. It IS more work, so maybe just order from Blurb, but just in case you wanted another option!

Re: Need help with MyPublisher and Blurb.com

hi
i used blurb.com and have made 3 books. the first book--i had it done and sent UPS ground---it took a few weeks to arrive. the next one came a little quicker and then the 3rd i had 2nd day shipping and it arrived whtin 10 days.

i think the first book takes a while. i really liked making the books and the way they came out. i gave all three out as gifts and everyone really loved them. they said that they wouldn't know the difference if they had picked up a photography book at barnes & nobles and the ones i gave them. they looked great

You're right, I may regret telling you! just kidding!!!

Just one thing if you start doing it on your own... Make your powerpoint page dimensions 2 - 4 times the size of the Powerpoint pages! Cuz when you save as a jpg file, it loses some resolution, so it's better to have the pages bigger, but in the right dimensions (two times, or whatever, 4 times, etc the size) and it will come out nice and clear as a jpg when you upload to MyPublisher.
