Where do you begin with the whole change of your name process?? DO i start at the DMV? Do i have to go to social sercurity? DO i have to go to the court at all?
I saw one before there was a website that gave a guide of what to do but i lost it. Anyone have that site?

I haven't started the process yet...but I think social security first then DMV...no court needed since your marriage cert is mailed to you

ok thank you. that is what i wanted to make sure. But i think i need to wait till my actual marriage license is mailed to us. right now we still only have our certificate. Once i have the marriage liscence then i can start at SS.

You do have to wait for the actual license. I went to the DMV first to change my license, registration and title to my car. Then I went to the banks to change my name there. Finally I ended at SS...it was a busy busy day!

I started with the SS office, then slowly started changing all my credit cards & things that get mailed to me. Tomorrow I am going to the DMV to get my NY license and car registered in NY under my new name (it's still registered in FL since that is where I'm from)
