So yesterday I was scheduled for my engagement photos and my photographer (who I've already booked for my wedding) doesn't show and doesn't call!! I booked him because he did my friends wedding and the pictures were beautiful! I shouldn't have ignored the red flags. (he didn't show for our initial appointment either) Now i need to start from scratch and pick a new photographer. Please help...who is everyone using?
I just booked with duet yesterday and they were super nice and very reasonable!

First of all WOW!!! What an irresponsible A whole!
I recommend you take your time and visit a few places and see who you feel comfortable with (as far as price and the vive they give you).
I used Hybrid Media Productions for my photo and video and the photog went beyond all my expectations as far as quality and her personality prior to and on the day of the wedding. She was amazing. FM me for more info..

Mark Kauffman is amazing and he's very affordable. His work is beautiful!!!!! I am getting a lot for my money compared to what a lot of other girls are paying and he's soo nice to work with!

******UPDATE******** I spoke with my friend who also used this photographer and she told me that she has emailed him last week re: her album and he emailed her back letting her know he was going to be out on vacation. I called the studio this morning and they told me he was away on a shoot and that he left over the weekend and would be back in a couple of days. Well, the photographer just called and informed me that his mother had a stroke and he had to leave the country. He said he was shocked that I wanted a refund and how could i not understand that he had a medical emergency. Then he tells me that he has to think about it. Please tell me I'm crazy for even thinking of giving him another chance and that i should cancel.

I certainly understand that family emergencies happen and sympathize with his situation. That said, you should go with your gut. If you don't feel comfortable with him, you should cancel. It seems odd that his staff would tell you he was away on a shoot if he was out tending to a family emergency. Also, if his staff was still in the office, why didn't anyone notify you ahead of time that they needed to reschedule your e-pics?
