Need help with Reception Halls **Repost from 07

I am looking for a reception spot in Nassau or western Suffolk. We have a huge family so it would need to hold about 275-300. Any help would be wonderful

Flowerfield or Land's End!
Villa Lombardi...Lombardi's on the Sound may be too small.

Good luck!

I think the Crescent club holds about 300.

North Ritz holds 350 and they only do one reception at a time - with a guest list that big it might be nice to have the whole place to yourself

we looked at North Ritz too because I always liked that lace when I passed it, but it is too big for us b/c we are only having 150. It looks beautiful inside!!!

I had been to the NRC, but FH and I loved it as soon as we saw it. I saw the Thatched Cottage too - I loved their outdoor area - It looks beautiful for pictures.

Okay, My fiance and I have seen just about every place on Long Island and since you have a large wedding (like we do!) I know how you feel!! I wanted 100% seating at the cocktail hour and people to feel comfortable, not to mention, everything else to be absolutely stunning. Here's my picks for GREAT reception halls.....

*Flowerfield (and I'm not just saying it because it's where I booked, it is truly amazing, brought tears to my eyes when I first walked in and I still get goosebumps to this day.) 100% seating, 1 bride only wedding, and plenty of room-CH is HUGE!
*Land's End, same company that owns FF owns them and I have been to a wedding there and know two others who got married there and just RAVE about it.
*The Garden City Hotel, what else do I have to say??
*Carlyle on the Green, a girl I work with is getting married there TOMORROW (1/6) and has a very large wedding.
*The Woodlands (Carnegie/Mellon Mansion) however I'm not sure if they have the room for your guests but you should call b/c it is really pretty and elegant.
*Oheka Castle, again what more do I need to say??
*The Brooklyn Botanical Garden, HUGE and absolutely takes your breath away!
*Giorgios: Out east a little far but my cousin got married there, we loved it, and she had a very large wedding. *one bride at a time again!*
*The Westbury Manor was very nice, I went to a wedding there and the food was surprisingly great considering it's the Scotto Brothers and whenever I go to the Watermill (which feels like every other day) the food is sub-par. But the WManor really was fantastic, not to mention, the MD and over-all service (to me--a guest) was NOTICEABLY amazing (again, same owner as Watermill and their service was just terrible and the people are rude, I was standing outside the cocktail hour by the door and a man rudely told me to 'move' so I snapped right back at him with a 'dont you mean EXCUSE ME?') anyway! the gardens at WManor are also fabulous. *one downside, not sure about having enough room for guests and its NOT a one-wedding place*
*Louis XVI, really beautiful, very chic, but $$.
*Raphael's (it's a vineyard) again, far but so amazing and people I know rave about it.

**I HOPE I WAS ABLE TO HELP! and when it comes to the most important day of your life, go with a place that you really love (even if it is more money--try to sacrifice elsewhere b/c the place is everything) with weddings--most of the time, you get what you pay for!**

I am getting married at The Woodmere Club. Doesn't get much mention on this board b/c it is a private country club so they do not advertise. I went to 2 weddings there 5 and 7 years ago and they were both the best weddings I have been to (and I have been to many, all over LI). They hold up to 350 people - food and service is amazing. I love the country club feel to a wedding. And the nice thing is you don't need someone to sponsor you like you do at most country clubs. You just have to write a letter to the board requesting your date - it's just a formality thing and they always approve. FM me if you'd like to see pics...I went there recently to see it all set up for a wedding and it was gorgeous! Do a search on it also on these boards b/c there was a bride from October I think on LIweddings and she posted pics...her wedding was beautiful!
