Need help with shower ideas!!

Hi! My sister is due one month after my wedding, so we are having her shower five days before my wedding..I bought her a bunch of different outfits for very holiday, lots of things..and I will buy a bunch from her registry, but what I was wondering is I am also throwing her shower. I ahve only been to one baby shower in my life, and I need some good suggestions. What are great games to play, prizes to give, ANYTHING!!! For my bridal shower, they are doing the wishing well thing I think, is there anything I can do like that for a baby shower? ANY suggestions of any kind would be GREATLY appreciated..Im clueless here and want to make my sisters shower extra special. Any suggestions for deserts, games, themes, prizes, ANYTHING!!!! Please!!! Thanks so much!!!

Here are some games they played at the last baby shower I attended:

1. Have each guest cut a length of yarn to see how big the mom's tummy got.

2. They soaked the labels off baby food and everyone had to guess what flavors they were.

3. Baby shower bingo

They had the cake decorated with plastic baby blocks that spelled, you guessed it, Baby:D

They had a wishing well also.

That's a lot of excitement for one family at one time!!

Re: Need help with shower ideas!!

you dont have to worry about what YOU need to put in the wishing well...just put it on the bottom of the invite that there will be one there..peopel tend to put in bibs, bottles, socks, diapers, wipes, nightlights, etc in there

we didnt have any games at my shower..but it still was a lot of fun to see who actually showed up!

in our family we give favors at the parties, so you may want to start to scope out what you can afford as a favor...and figure out your guest list....see if an aunt or close friend can help you pull this off

Re: Need help with shower ideas!!

I went to a baby shower on Sunday, and they
1. Set a timer - when it went off, the person whose gift the MTB was opening won a prize ( they had cute candles
2. They did a clothesline, with a variety of outfits (little to big), including all the holidays (Christmas, Valentines Day, Easter, July 4th, etc).
3. They put pink and blue M&M's in an oversized baby bottle and guests had to guess how many were in there.
4. They had programs (so cute) made up that included word jumbles (all layette related) with an 'advertisement' of the baby (ie. the 'LAST NAME' construction company has a new model). They also included information about which number grandchild and greatgrandchild it was for each family member.

It was very cute.

HTH -- good luck
